Eric Cartman was very excited to be going to the river. It had been his favorite place to go with his mom and they have gone every summer. He had woken up very early that morning, just to make sure he had everything. Once he knew he did, he ran to his mom's room.

"Mom! Mom!" Eric jumping up and down "Mom, wake up today is the day!"

Liane Cartman moved slightly under her covers, she at first didn't notice her little chubby son. Eric became quite annoyed that his mother wasn't paying attention to him. He pounced onto the bed and ripped off her blanket.

"Mom wake up!" He said again but then his heart dropped as he saw his mother looked sick. Her hair was messy and her face was completely flushed.

"M...mom?" Eric said his eyes tearing up from disappointment. He haven't been having a good summer so far. He wasn't allowed to go to camp with his other friends because of bad behavior. So he was spending the summer at home, doing nothing but watching dumb videos on YouTube. When he was finally promised this trip, it made him happy, though then he just felt upset as usual

"I'm sorry sweetie," Liane said hugging him "But mommy isn't feeling too well, and I'm afraid I won't be able to go to the lake with you."

Eric wanted to have a tantrum but only signed and buried his face into his mother's shoulder. Liane rubbed his head and thought to herself.

"Oh Eric," She said suddenly happy "Why don't you go to the lake with Butters and his family?"

"Butters?" Eric asked in shock "I don't wanna go with Butters he's so annoying."

Liane chuckled "He is your friend Eric, be nice."

Eric sighed for he knew he'd lost this one. So he found himself a few hours later, in the back seat of the Stotch's car. Butters looked a little nervous around the pudgy boy, but he always was, nervous that is.

"So um Eric..." He started rubbing his knuckles together "Uh..."

"Shut up Butters," Eric said not looking at him. He was already annoyed by the fact that his mother was with him, but hanging out with Butters was even worse.

"Just don't talk to me," He said "Not until we get there."

"But E-Eric...." Butters stuttered

"What did I just say!?" Eric questioned angrily

"Not to talk to you until we got there," Butters said smiling weakly.

"Okay...." Eric said losing it "Then why are you TALKING to meh!"

"B-because we are there."

Eric looked out the window and saw that Butters was right. He sighed in relief. He could finally be away from Butters and just relax.

Once out of the car, Mr. Stotch instructed Butters to keep an eye on Eric. If he were to misplace him, he'd be grounded. Eric couldn't give a damn about anything that Mr. Stotch had said. Once he had gotten out of the car, he went straight to exploring.

"Eric w-wait!" Butters called running after him "We are s - supposed to stick together!"

"I don't care!" Eric said coldly pushing him away "I'm going to have fun and you aren't going to stop me!"

"But Eric," Butters said a little confused "I'm not going to ruin your fun, I just wanted to..."

"You already have!" Eric spat looking around at the trees "Just by being here, you ruin all the fun, so go away before you ruin anything else."

Butters looked a little hurt, but knew Eric didn't care. He simply sighed sadly and walked away. Eric smiled and walked over to the lake.

"Alright let's go!" He told himself as he walked more into the forest, that was just a few inches from the lake. He walked over to the same place he went to all the time and smiled happily at the familiar trees and the shining color of the lake.

This is going to be sweet, now let's find some cool shit

He decided to walk a little farther than where he normally went to. Eric's mother always told him not to go farther than the place they'd normally go but he was old enough so he didn't care. He walked for about a few minutes before reaching a beautiful view.

Eric was standing on the edge of a small hill and had wonderful view of the surrounding meadow. He blushed in happiness and his eyes widened at the sight.

"This is so tits!" He explaimed running his hands through his pockets, trying to find his phone, though he realized he left it back with the Stotch's.

"God Damn it," He swore grudgingly walking away from the beautiful sight. He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice the small patch of grass that was barely covering a deep whole.

"Ahhh!!" He yelled as he fell through the grass and slid down the whole all the way to a different part of the lake side.

Butters walked sadly around the lake. He had made sure to walk as far from Eric as possible because he was mad at Eric. Everytime he tried to be at least friends with the boy, he'd be shunned or insulted.

Well fuck him, I don't need this!

However his angry walk was interrupted by the sound of sobs. He sighed and walked over to where he heard it. The sobs got louder and louder as he went closer to a huge rock.

Butters slowly looked around the rock, to see the source of the crying. Eric was laying in the grass, his leg was bleeding and he looked beaten up.

"Mommy," He sobbed wiping his tears, shivering terrified from what had happened.

Oh poor Eric...

Butters moved away from the rock and over to his chubby little friend. He gave Eric a comforting smile and hugged him. Eric was quite shocked that Butters hugged him and wanted to throw him off.

He's warm

He eventually gave in and hugged Butters tightly, sobbing into his shoulder. Butters rubbed his back, soothing him softly.

"Don't cry Eric," He said "We can go home if you want."

"But I don't know where we are and my leg hurts," Eric cried holding onto him tighter "Butters..."

Butters looked around and tried to think of a way to get back. He then looked at Eric's leg and it looked pretty bad. Though he remembered how to treat a broken leg in situations like these.

"Hold on a second Eric," He said walking over to get to sticks and walked back to Eric. Butters ripped off most of his sleeve and used the cloth to tie the two sticks onto either sides of Eric's leg.

"That feels weird," Eric whined as Butters's put one of Eric's arms over his shoulder.

"I know it does but it will help," He smiled and Eric smiled back.

The two eventually made it back to the Stotch's and both were quite happy.

"Thanks Butters," Eric said quietly but Butters's heard him and kissed his forehead.

"No problem Eric," He grinned "Besides there's nothing like summer, without a little rescue."
