That night I collapsed as soon as I got home. Nona the old lady was an amazing cook and we stayed there for awhile chilling and listening to her tell stories about her grandson. He was gifted like us and turns out he is actually pretty famous. Leif Fernandez was said to be one of the strongest hero there was. He protected people and even saved Hunters from death. A true hero considering his parents were slaughtered during the massacre that killed many of the gifted.

The walls were caving in on us. Mom was pulling me to safety as Hunters fired at us. Tyre and dad were behind us shielding us. Tyre raised his hands and stone impaled the ones closest to us. Dad fell foward as a jagged rock stabbed his foot. And then his arms. His chest and so on. "NOOO" Mom yelled.

She ran towards him letting me go. I stood back and watched in horror as blood began pooling around his leg. "Tyre it's ok. You didn't mean to. Please help me move your dad." Mom cried.

Tyre looked back coldly. "No I meant to. Leave him mom. We can't help him and this was his fault to begin with. He betrayed us."

"No, no, no. Tyre I am your mother. Listen to me!" Mom was frantic. I was too little to know my mom had issues. She snapped. She just gave up I guess because she fell too and started crying and screaming for the Hunters to kill her.

Tyre looked angry now. "Worthless bitch." Stones impaled her body.

"MOM!" I woke up with a start. I was sweating. I turned to check the time. Fuck it's 7:00am. Im late for class. I stumbled into the shower and turned on the cold water hoping it would make me forget about the nightmare.

I got to school 20 minutes later. 4th period just started so I was safe. I walked into class just as announcements started. Eros winked at me and Calum gave a quick nod my way. (Idk about u but my school don't got homeroom most of the year so we have announcements later in the day) The voice on the intercom told the same useless crap. Well except for the end in which it said "The tournament has been pushed up and will be occuring next week do to issues with security. "

The class was in an uproar. The voice continued. "Don't worry, ot isn't anything major. As you know renovations are occuring in the following weeks and the governin bodies have decided that it would be safer for eveeyone if the tournament occurs before they begin. That is all for today."

"Ok class." Mrs. Schneider said. "Today we will be studying and history of gifted and non-gifted humans. Oh and by the way congratulations Arkyer for saving that little girl. I saw you on the news. That was pretty brave."

That set off the class again and I found my self being bombarded with questions. "Ahem, please children, silence yourselves.  You may ask him questions later but not right now for we have class." Her British accent made her seem much more strict than she actually is.

As soon as class ended Eros and Callum grabbed me and dragged me into the lunch room where the rest of the group was waiting. "Where you been man?" Pierce asked when he saw me.

"I overslept. Why?" I noticed Alixe and Daimos sitting kinda close to each other.

"Ms.Karly was freaked out when she saw you guys on the news so she decided that all classes wouldn't have to do shit today in order to celebrate your accomplishments." He caught my gazed and looked at Daimos and Alixe. "Oh yeah those two have been like that all day. Wish one of them would tell the other how they feel."

"They can't help what they feel" Eros said. Leaning in he whispered in my ear. "You should follow their example." He pushed me toward Pierce and headed toward the table.

"Soooooooooooo" Pierce said.

"You hear about the tournament?" I asked.

"Yeah." He replied. I saw Eros facepalm and Callum mouthed your screwed.
