Nobody's Battle

Chapter 4

School ended soon after. I followed Pierce's directions to and founded my self standing in front of a two story house. Guess this is it, I thought. I rang the bell and a while later Pierce opened the door. "Hey, you can throw your shit over there. Sorry about earlier Callum is pretty sensitive. He'll calm down soon enough." "Yeah I was kinda rude." I said. "Forget it, and I know your probably wondering why I'm stuck in the small campus building. It's cause I have trouble controlling my abilities and I tend to freeze things when I get angry, even if I don't mean too. Alixe got stuck there because she kept getting into trouble for for accidentally causing things to go wrong. Daimos got stuck there because he doesn't use his powers. Don't ask about him, he's gone through some stuff." Ding The doorbell rang. "Come in" Pierce yelled. Alixe walked in followed by Daimos, Eros, and Callum. "Alright let's catch Arkyer up to speed." Alixe said. "That's Daimos and well we don't know what his abilities are sooo yeah. Eros can manipulate your emotions and read them. Callum can control the shadows around him. Pierce can control the temperature and generate ice and fire. I can sense how powerful my opponents are and have enhanced speed, strength, dexterity and I can read energy signatures objects give off. What about you?" I looked at them before saying "I don't know I've only used them once and I don't know how I did. But you did say something about reading energy signatures right? How do they look?" Alixe pursed her lips "It's hard to describe but if I focus I can feel vibrations something gives off. The more prominent the vibration the stronger it is but not everything is the same. It's like there are different vibes for different objects. Why are you asking?" I felt nervous and Eros patted my back. "The one time I used my powers, every thing around me had colours around them. I could "pull" the colours and it was kinda weird because because whenever I did it felt solid and the colours brightened. As for pull I don't mean physically. It was more like my mind was doing it but my body was being strained." Eros spoke up. "Maybe you were picking up on the energy signatures around them. It's kinda like when I mess with emotions. When I do it, I see emotions as colours like a mood rings. "Aye I got an idea." Pierce shouted. We all jumped but he remained oblivious. "Follow me." We followed him outside. "Here Arkyer try to concentrate on this." He held out his palm and a chunk if ice the size of a baseball formed in his palm. I tried to focus on it but I wasn't seeing anything. "Don't just focus on how it looks. I heard Alixe say "Try to feel it like how you said you felt the colours." I tried again and closed my eyes, and tried to recall the memories of the fight. I remembered how the colours varied between objects and how they shifted. Then I realized that all the objects had certain colours flowing around them. For example the ground shifted between brown, a sandy colour,and dark orange. I opened my eyes and tried to visualize cold colours like light blue and white flowing around the ice. Still nothing happened. Nothing happened at first but then I noticed that the ice had a pale blue tinge. I tried to focus on it and it began to glow. I willed it to float up and I felt that rush of power from before. Everything around me began to glow changing from one colour to another in kaleidoscopic beauty. But I could also feel the strain on my body. My head began to throb and hurt like hell. I tried to keep the ice steady but it kept shaking. I started getting frustrated and everything around me began to change to a bright orange colour. "ARKYER STOP IT" Alixe yelled. I felt myself calm but I couldn't stop. The colours began to intensify. I felt Pierce tackle me to the ground just as everything around me exploded into orange flames. "Dammit I fucked up again."

Pierce got up but I realized and took of the charred remains of his shirt revealing a sixpack. I blushed hard and I could hear Eros laughing a few feet away. Alixe looked suprised.
"What did you do?! Everything around you started to give off wild vibes like a hornet's nest. Then everything exploded."
"I don't know. I got frustrated and I lost it."
I looked around to see the damage I caused. It wasn't so bad is an understatement. The ground was burned and Pierce's house had a huge hole blasted into the living room.
"Damn I fucked up." I said.
"Well atleast no one was hurt."
I walked towards Pierce. "Sorry about the house man."
"It's not so bad. Eros blew up the second floor when during his science project. My parents are used to it happening."
"Yeah plus that was a blast" We turned to Eros. "What to soon?"
