"Now, tell me Liam. Why have you shown up in my territory unannounced, without my permission might I add-" I stated, clearing my throat, flicking my hazel eyes to meet his again. My index finger toyed at the black ink pen I still held loosely in my hand. "You have attempted to forcefully expand your territory by entering mine. Then you expect me to bend to your suggestions with the comprimise of a treaty then after? How foolish of you." I sneered, narrowing my eyes at Liam, who only stared back with bubbling anger in his brown eyes.

"My pack is growing Serenity, which means I need more hunting ground. I will take any measures I have to to fulfill the needs of my pack." Liam stated matter-of-factly, clenching his jaw tighter. I raised a brow. "And you're saying this to the leader of largest pack in the country. When you have two other neighbouring packs aside from mine, -who are equal in size to your own- you choose to go after the largest one?" I scoffed. This man was more stupid than I thought. I was about ready to burst out laughing in my seat at his words, but I remained deadly calm. Liam may be ill minded but I never underestimate an opponent.

"What can I say? I'm an ambitious man, Serenity. Now what do you say about my offer?" He replied, smirking as our gazes never left one another, as if we were in a continuous mental battle. He expects me to bend to his rules and give him a portion of my land? No way in hell. "I want nothing to do with your idiotic requests Liam. You broke pack law yet again and your lucky I'm letting you walk away with your head on your shoulders rather than mounted on my wall. I believe it would be best if you leave and hope to the goddess that I don't slaughter every corrupt wolf in your pack the moment you let your guard down." I growled lowly.

I wanted to kill Liam. He's unworthy of being an Alpha. I could feel my incisors throbbing for his blood. Hell, the only reason he got the position was by birthright. His father was a much better alpha by a long-shot. The cocky bastard couldn't get kicked off his pedestal unless I had to do it myself.

I stole a glance at Adrian who sat stiffly in his seat, appearing to be interested in his book more than the ongoing arguement ensuing between Liam and I next to him. I could feel the unease rolling off of him in waves. I now felt bad for having him sit in this room, rather than asking him if he wanted to leave. I'll have to get more books for him to read as a bit of an apology, as he seems to enjoy reading, like myself.

Liam's chuckle snapped my now hardened gaze back to him. "I can promise you that that threat won't happen my dear. You know I'm not the only one who's broken pack law... and paid the price for it."

I felt a knot tighten in my chest at his words. A chill running through my blood. I took a glance at my mate again to see he was glaring holes into the side of Liam's skull. Anger and confusion swirled in his crisp silver eyes.

My canines and the scar on my face seemed to throb at the memories that suddenly came flooding back once again. I resisted the urge to let a shiver trail down my spine. The agonizing screams, the pain, and never-ending scent of blood were all to familiar to my mind. I glowered at Liam even harder.

How the hell did he know? How the hell could he have gotten his filthy hands on such personal information?!

A loud growl rumbled deep from my throat. My fist squeezed the pen in my hand enough for it to snap, just as my temper was about to at the moment.

I took another glance at Adrian. He was looking at me now with a mix of emotions, the book in his large hands no longer of his attention. I looked away, wishing for the tightening pain in my chest to go away. "Leave my office Liam. You are no longer welcome on the Blackstone River pack grounds. Any attempts of either you or any pack member trespassing on my territory with result in death. That is my only warning. Up until now your violations of pack law have gone unpunished. Expect for that to change." I snarled through clenched teeth. I was ready to snap his neck like a toothpick.
