V's fingers danced across his glowing keyboard, the keys clicking in a rapid, uneven rhythm under his fluttering touch. An article popped up on the screen, and in the soft light of the computer, his Cheshire Cat smile was illuminated. In his ribcage--a dark and desolated place--he felt the flutter of hope, a feeling he so rarely felt anymore. Who knew that this pop culture news website for teenaged Korean fangirls would be the answer to his problem? His rectangle smile grew wider as he skimmed the over-enthusiastic words that buried the webpage. Jackpot.
Meet Your New Obsession: BTS!
Bangtan Sonyeondan, also known as BTS, is the year's newest group! The hip-hop six-piece consists of Rap Monster, Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, and Jungkook. Want to know more about them? We've gathered information and have created member profiles!
V's attention wasn't held by this, but rather, a particular member's profile. At first glance, it was nothing special. It was just a list on information about one of the members, Jungkook. It displayed his name, birthplace, birthday, height, weight, ideal type, and some fun facts. It wasn't out of the ordinary for these Korean pop sites. At a hundredth glance, it still didn't look special, at least not for ordinary humans without a cause.
Good thing I'm not human, V thought, smirking to himself. Luckily for him, a special line in the fun facts section had, in fact, caught his eye, and it held his unwavering attention.
Jungkook is known as the Golden Maknae, since he is the youngest and can do almost everything!
"Golden maknae, huh?" V mused, cocking his head to the side, intrigued. "'Can do almost everything?'"
He scanned over that line multiple times, confirming its authenticity and existence. The screen's light burned into his retinas, and his eyes flickered over and over in the dim light. By the time the words seemed to be etched into his brain and he knew the font like the back of his hand, a soft grin stained his lips.
"Good." He could hardly contain the bubbling excitement in his voice.
All of V's past specimens hadn't been up to par. They'd all been weak and afraid. They were too unfit to be analyzed properly, which interfered with his studies on the inhabitants of Earth. It would be interesting to finally get to study one of the superior humans on the planet, wouldn't it?
With a satisfied hum, V closed his laptop with a decisive click.
