The moment I stepped into the classroom, the whole room fell silent. 35 bright eyes immediately turned to look at me.

Ignoring them, I turned to the teacher, a woman probably in her fifties, who was skinny and wore spectacles. She looked pretty fierce if you asked me.

"Hello, Miss. Summers. Mrs. Collins informed me that you would be late. You got caught in the rain, right?" She inquired in a stiff tone. "So that's what Nice Office Ladies' name was!" I thought as I gulped and nodded.

"Well, I hope you're okay now. Welcome to Brooklyn High!" She welcomed as a cold-fake smile spread across her deathly pale and wrinkle-covered skin. Man, that lady terrified me! "Thanks," I muttered in reply. Her 'smile' turned into a frown, "Your most welcome.(is that a hint of sarcasm I detect???) Now, would you care to introduce yourself to the class before I continue with the lesson?"

Too scared to say no, I mumbled a "yea" as I shuffled to the front of the class and announced, "Hi everyone, I'm Gray Summers. I just moved here from Washington because of my dad's job. I guess that's.......all?" I mentally slapped myself a hundred times. "Great. Prepare to be the next class loner." I told myself.

No one said anything, so I awkwardly stood there until Snow Queen(I know, I make up names in my head a lot. And besides, her skin was as white as snow, like not in a Snow White way) clasped her (stick) hands together, "Thank you, Miss. Summers. Please take a seat next to Miss. Harper over there and I'll continue with the lesson." She pointed to an empty seat on the left side of the classroom.

I wasted no time in rushing to my seat. As I sat down, a voice next to me whispered, "Hey! I'm Brynn Kalea Harper, but just call me Brynn." Curious, I turned to face her. She had blonde, medium-length beach waves that casaded down to her shoulders.

She had slightly tanned skin and was clad in a cute floral mini-dress even though it was a rainy day. She was kind of like a big ball of sunshine. The opposite of me, basically.

"I'm - I guess you already know. Sorry, I'm not very good at introductions." I blushed. Brynn shrugged it off, "Nah, everyone gets a little shy sometimes." When Snow Queen saw us whispering, she gave us a stern look of disapproval.

I shuddered, "She's scary." Brynn chuckled, "Scary is the word." I smiled, and offered her a hand. "Friends?" I asked a little nervously. "Are you kidding me? Definitely!" She exclaimed and shook my hand. I grinned. Looks like I'm not gonna be a depressed loner after all.

After what seemed like eternity(actually fifteen minutes), class finally ended and students rushed out the door as if the room was on fire. I was following them, when I realized Brynn was having trouble stuffing her folder into her tiny tote bag.

Being the awesome and nice person I was, I said, "Brynn, take your time, I'll wait for you outside the classroom okay?" She gave me a look of relief as she exhaled, "Whew, this is hard. Thanks Gray!" I beamed at her as I strolled out of the class.
