After a few minutes of waiting outside the classroom, Brynn still hadn't managed to stuff her godamn folder into her freakin' minuscule-sized tote bag.(notice how I use a bit more colourful language when I'm impatient)
She probably over-estimated me when I told her to 'take her time'. "Correction. She definitely over-estimated me," I thought as another minute passed.
I sighed as I turned to lean on the lockers, staring straight at the peeling white outer-walls of the classroom.
"Hey Gorgeous." I heard a low voice suddenly say in my ear, before I was spun around to face a guy. I looked up and studied his features quickly. He had deep chestnut brown hair, that had a sheen like fine hardwood. He was also lean and tall, with a toned body so perfect it looked as if it was sculpted from stone. In other words, he was hot.
"H-hi." I stuttered, but inside I felt like pulling my hair out. "UGH!!! Why did I allow myself to get so worked up about a guy I just met???!!!" I thought angrily.
To show him I was calm and everything about talking to him, I cleared my throat and repeated in a louder, more confident voice, "I meant, hi, I'm Gray Summers. I'm new here."
He snaked an arm around my waist and smirked, "Cute. I'm Cody." He leaned in as he whispered his name in my ear. I was stunned for a moment.
His lips ghosted across my jawline as he retracted his head back to face me. Then he leaned in further, and I thought he was about to kiss me, so I closed my eyes, but he ended up just saying, "See you around, Princess." He walked off coolly, leaving me frozen to the spot.
"Woah," I heard the unmistakable sound of Brynn's voice murmur. I immediately turned to face her, my arms akimbo."Well look who finally decided to show up! Almost 15 minutes have passed! Next time, for heaven's sake, bring a bigger bag." I exclaimed, clearly frustrated.
Ignoring everything I had just said, she grabbed my shoulders and looked me in the eyes as she whisper-shouted sternly, "Gray! You know that guy that was talking to you? Stay. Away. From. Him. He's a player, and I don't want to see you heartbroken anytime soon." Her eyes were pleading.
"Is he that bad?" I questioned as she nodded her head vigorously. I pondered for a moment. "And anyway, how do you know?" I quickly asked again.
Suddenly, Brynn shuddered, as if recalling a painful memory. "Is..everything okay?" I inquired, concerned. She composed herself, "We-we used to date." Then she bit her lower lip and added, "I prefer not to talk about it. At least not now."
I nodded, unsure of what to say. "Whew! Are you hungry? I'm starving! Come on, let's go eat." She cried, breaking the awkward-silence.
Relieved, I thought, "I'm glad to have Brynn as a friend, cos I, for one, have no idea what to say to break awkward silence!"
I was happily thanking god for Brynn, until she grabbed my hand and literally dragged me down the corridor and into the canteen. As I was dragged into the canteen, one of the stupid swinging doors slammed on my head.
I immediately shot out of Brynn's grasp and massaged my poor aching forehead. Brynn was soooo dead!!
