Chapter 2

*Shelby's POV*

After that incredibly awkward game of truth or dare, I just wanted to go in my room and relax. I decided to watch Pretty Little Liars on netflix, because it's basically my life. I was happily minding my own business when Hayes walked in my room.

"Um ever heard of knocking?"I asked.

"I'm sorry" He said, "I didn't mean to make things awkward. Can we start over?"

I had to give it to him, he was being really sweet. So I said sure and then invited him to watch PLL with me.

"Look Shelby I really am sorry" Hayes said, "your just so beautiful and I couldn't help myself."

As sweet as Hayes is, I just can't fall for him. Even though he has the perfect hair, the perfect smile, and those eyes... Wait I need to snap out of it.

"It's ok Hayes" I assured him, looking into those bright blue eyes.

Before I knew what was happening, he put his hand on the back of my neck and the other on my thigh and started to lean in. I couldn't let this happen, I couldn't get attached only for him to leave. Right as I got done thinking about this, he planted his soft lips on mine. I instantly pulled away.

*Hayes POV*

"God Hayes you are so dumb!" I thought to myself. I really needed to get it together. I was known for being smooth not a dork like I'm being right now.

"Shelby I'm so sorry" I said, "I don't know what happened but I promise it won't happen again."

"I think you should leave now," she said quietly.

I didn't want to mess up again so I left and went back to my room. I went on twitter and was scrolling through when I saw one of Shelby's tweets:

@shelbygilinskyyy: so excited to be living in Cali with my brother and his friends! :)

Then she tagged all of the boys, except for me. I came up with a really good plan on how to win her over...

*Cameron's POV*

We got back to the house around 7 and we were all starving so we just had leftover pizza. Hayes and Shelby never came down for supper though. Gilinsky was getting worried, and Nash was already mad at Hayes, so I offered to go talk to them. I went into Hayes room first and found him laying on his bed.

"Hayes what's the matter with you?" I asked.

"Go away"

"I'm not leaving until you tell me what's going on" I replied.

"Ok fine, I went into Shelby's room to apologize and I thought she was into me so I kindasortakissedherforasecondbeforeshepulledaway." He said, speeding through the last part.

"YOU DID WHAT?" I screamed.

"Shhhh Cam please, I know I screwed up but don't tell Gilinsky, I don't want to die" He whispered.

"No Hayes, I can't keep that from him" I said, running out of his room and down three flights of stairs to Gilinsky's room, with Hayes following close behind me.

*Hayes POV*

"CAMERON NO!" I was screaming behind him.

"TOO LATE HAYES"

"CAMERON PLEASEEEEEEE" I honestly wanted to cry right now, if Gilinsky found out what I did I would have no chance with Shelby.

I continued chasing Cam down the stairs until we got to the first floor, and Cam ran into Jacks room and shut the door and locked it. I could hear him talking and then I hear Jack scream "WHAT?", and the door flew open. Gilinsky gave me a death stare and started to say something, but I didn't stay around to listen. I ran back up the stairs until I got to the third floor. I ran into Taylors room and locked the door.

"Hayes, what the heck is going on?" Taylor got up from his bed and ran over to the door. I explained to him what happened. Then Jack started pounding on the door, telling me to open it now. I begged Taylor not to open it, but of course he did anyways. Gilinsky ran in and shoved me so hard into the wall it made a dent.

"Heyyyyyy" Taylor whined, "don't mess up my roommmmmm"

"Not now Tay!" Gilinsky screamed.

He continued to beat me up with all of the boys screaming at me until Shelby ran in the room.

*Shelbys POV*

When I was upstairs still "recovering" from earlier, I heard Cam and Hayes screaming at each other. At first I thought they were just joking around with each other but then I heard Cam start to run downstairs with Hayes running after him, and then I knew exactly what was going on. Next thing I know I hear Jack running after him, a door slamming, and some other loud noise. I ran downstairs and I was really upset because I hate this all happened because of me. I heard the noise coming from Taylor's room so I ran in there to see Jack literally beating Hayes up and all of the others yelling at Hayes.

After I ran in they all stopped. I could tell Jack knew what he did was wrong because he tried to come up and hug me and apologize. "Shelby I'm sorry, I jus-" I cut him off.

"No Jack this is not okay!" I screamed "you over react about everything and it's so annoying!"

"Well fine" he scremed back "I'll let him break your heart but don't come crying to me"

"FINE" I yelled running back up to my room, with Matt following behind me trying to get my attention.

"Shelby wait up" He yelled.

I went into my room and sat on my bed, making room for Matt to join me. He opened his arms and wrapped me up as I cried in his shoulders. He told me I should go to bed so I changed and then drifted off to sleep.
