Chapter 4

*Hayes POV*
I couldn't believe what Nash had just told me. I mean I understand that Gilinsky wants to protect Shelby, but I'm not that bad of a guy. I went downstairs to eat lunch with everyone and try to talk to Shelby but her and Taylor weren't down there. All of a sudden I heard Shelby running down the stairs screaming and laughing.  "Taylor no!" She yelled "get that bug away from me!" She continued to run down the stairs and hide behind Shawn until Taylor threw the bug away.  She looked really beautiful. She had on white high waisted shorts and a plain red t-shirt on with Taylor's lucky bandana wrapped around her head. Wait what?! Taylor never lets anyone wear that thing. "Woah Taylor" Matt said "why does she get to wear the lucky bandana but I don't" he started to fake cry.
"Sorry Matt" Shelby laughed "I'm just more special than you" and her and Taylor started to walk out of the door to go somewhere. "Hey hold up" Gilinsky said "Shelby where do you think you're going?" "I'm hungry so me and Taylor are going to chipotle" she said. After her and jack bickered for a moment she went out the door.
After they left all of the guys just looked at me. I didn't say a word I just pushed my chair away from the table and stormed up to my room. I couldn't take this anymore. I needed to prove to the guys that I was good enough for Shelby but I had no clue how to. I didn't feel like starting a bunch of drama that would end up making someone upset. Shawn came upstairs and told me that they were going to the park to play football if I wanted to come. I decided that I needed to let some steam off so I went with them.
* Shelby's POV*
Me and Taylor got to chipotle and we both ordered our usuals.  We sat down to eat and I started to get my phone out to take a picture of the food when Taylor stopped me. "Woah baby G" he laughed "please tell me you're not about to take a picture of your food." I laughed and muttered "well not anymore." We finished our food and were about to head back to the house when Tay got a text from the boys saying they were at the park playing football. "Wanna come?" He asked. "No thanks, just drop me off at the house" I replied.
After I got to the house I changed into my black nike pros and a white tank top and sat down to read a book when I heard a noise. I freaked out a little and then texted jack

Yeah I was just about to call you, right after Taylor came Hayes wanted to go home Ig to talk to you

I didn't bother to answer I just continued to read until I heard someone walk into my room. I automatically knew who it was.
"What do you want Hayes?" I asked

"I need to explain things" He replied

"Well honestly Hayes there's not much to explain"

"But there is Shelby," he started to walk closer to me "Jack and Cam made that stuff up about me" by now he was hovering above me "I could never do any of that to a girl like you." And he planted his lips on mine, but I pulled away.

"Hayes, this can't happen" I said, starting to get upset.  I figured he was telling the truth about Jack lying.  I wasn't mad at Jack, I was just confused. 

"Why not?" He asked, starting to get angry.

"Because I'm not allowed to date you" I mumbled.

"Your what?" He screamed, clearly very angry.  Just then Aaron ran into the room and came over to me to put space in between me and Hayes.  Soon after Carter ran in and grabbed Hayes and took him out of the room.  By this point I was a mess, I was wrapped in Aaron's arms just crying my eyes out. 

Three hours later

Me and Aaron had watched a movie in my room and had just been talking since earlier.  The only thing I could hear over the movie was a lot of yelling coming from Hayes' room.  Around 6:00 Johnson came in my room and told Aaron he could take care of me from here.  I hated this.  They were treating me like a baby, and there was already so much drama.

"How you doing baby G?" He asked me.

"Oh I've never been better" I said sarcastically.

"Come on," he said hugging me "cheer up."  I had to admit Johnson hugs were nice and they made me feel a little bit better.

"Ok" I said "I feel better now"

"Good" He said smiling "now get dress nice because we're going out to eat with management in an hour"

"Wait" I screamed "that's not enough time!"

"Accept the challenge G" He said laughing, and then ran out of my room.

I jumped in the shower really fast and then blow dried my hair when I was done.  I straightened it, then I put a little bit of makeup on.  I picked out a blue dress, that had a triangular pattern cut out in the back.  I put on a gold watch and necklace, and my gold jack rogers.  I looked at the time and it was only 6:45, so I still had time to spare.  I walked to the second floor and most of the guys were already in there, except for Nash and Carter. 

"Woah" Matt said staring at me.  I saw Hayes give him a look but I was trying not to pay attention to him.  Even though he had on khaki jeans with a blue shirt that just looked perfect on him.  Wait no, I need to stop. 

"Hey Matt," my brother said "snap out of it." Him and the rest of the boys laughed and I asked carter to take a picture of me and Gilinsky so I could post it. In the picture, Jack wrapped his arm around me and we both did our famous Gilinsky "smirk". I posted the photo to Instagram with the caption "I don't even like you...at all👽" he commented a couple of crying emojis and the laughing one and then we all walked out of the door to go eat.
