Chapter 3

*Fast forward 2 weeks*

*Shelbys POV*

It's been two whole weeks since I've talked to Jack and Hayes, and it's really killing me. Matt said Hayes has been locked up in his room and spending a lot of time crying. I still have no desire to apologize to Jack but I do want to apologize to Hayes, so I walked to his room.

When I walked in he was on his bed, staring into space. "Hey Hayes" I said, and he shot right up.

"H-Hi Shelby" He said.

"Look I'm really sorry about Jack, he's just really protective" I said, laughing nervously

"Yeah I kinda noticed" Hayes said laughing

"If it makes you feel better I'm still not talking to him"

"Honestly, that only makes me feel worse Shelby."

"Oh I'm sorry"

"Come here" He said, embracing me in a hug.

He suggested that we watch a movie. We sat on the couch and watched Legally Blonde, and I think Hayes actually enjoyed it. After that, we sat there talking and getting to know each other for what seemed like forever. Then we realized it was 1:30 in the morning. I decided that I was going to go to bed, so I started to walk back to my room. Then Hayes stopped me.

"Hey Shelby" He called, "when do I get to take you on a date?"

I replied with "in your dreams, Grier" and I winked and started to walk away. Then his arms wrapped around my waist and he turned me around to face him, and our foreheads were touching.

"You sure about that?" he whispered. I shivered and he just smirked and closed his door. Great, just great.

*Hayes POV*

I woke up early the next morning and went downstairs to make Shelby and I some breakfast. It was about 7:00 in the morning and I knew she wouldn't be up until at least 8. I made her pancakes with bacon, and set the table. By the time I was done it was about 7:45, so I had time to spare.

Then I heard footsteps coming from the bottom floor, of course it was Gilinksy. He came into the kitchen and stopped. "What's all this for?" he asked, glaring at me. "It's for Shelby" I responded. "I thought you two weren't talking" He said coming closer to me. "We made up" I said.

"Made up or Made out?" He started to sound really angry.

"Come on Gilinsky," I started "you can't stay mad at her forever"

After that we had a long conversation, and we made up. He said he would talk to her later, so hopefully things can return to normal around here. About the time he went downstairs, Shelby walked into the kitchen.

"Good morning beautiful"

"Morning Hayes"

"Aren't you impressed at the breakfast I made you?" I asked motioning towards the table.

"Well yes Mr. Grier I am" She said laughing and going to sit down.

We ate breakfast then I offered to clean up, but she insisted she helped so we started washing dishes together. Then I felt water being splashed on me. I turned around and she tried to put a cute innocent look on her face but it didn't work. I grabbed a bunch of soap and poured it on her head and then it turned into a full on water/soap fight. We were screaming and laughing until Aaron and Cam came downstairs and started telling us to be quite. So we threw soap and them and then ran upstairs, leaving them to clean up our mess.
