The 3rd option

To say that changed the family dynamic was an understatement.

Eva had gotten a taste for human flesh and wanted nothing else. I was kinda scared of her. I've seen Luke eat people before but as his beast. Eva is fully human, devouring human flesh like its honey BBQ chips or something. They probably don't even have those anymore, i then really let it sink in that I will never be in the world I once knew, never hear music or see cars drive by or go to restaurants, all of that is gone now. The only thing that brings me the slightest amount of comfort is my family of course, but the other thing is my mother is long gone, and she didn't have to try to survive in this new fucked up world.

Luke must've felt my sadness because a few seconds later he came in with a sleeping Eva in his hands, and they sat next to me, as I look down at her precious face the image of her playing in the doctor's blood flashed very vividly in my brain, I don't want her to be evil. i want her to by better than me and Luke. She will be a queen, and she will rule this new world and bring it back to its glory. I truly believe that we will make our own prophecy

" we need to discuss yesterday" I say to Luke, we haven't really talked about the fact our daughter killed the man who helped bring her into the world, or our niece is alive after centuries, and she's batshit crazy. My guess is we are in shock, once we finally moved from the spot we were in i snapped my fingers and cleaned everything up instantly and Luke put Juliet in the same makeshift prison we made for the doctor.

"What is there to discuss? We have everything under control." he says this while staring down at her sleeping form. He planted a kiss on her forehead and I could then feel the worry in our bond. He tried to put on a brave face, but i could tell seeing our baby like that really shook him up. Maybe even more than me.

" We don't have to ever bring it up again, but baby I need you to promise me something-" I grab one of his hands, and he turns to face me, making slow movements not to wake Eva up. We face each other and stare into each other eyes.

" i need you to promise me no matter what happens , we will make sure Eva is good, she cannot become us, I don't want her to have to carry the guilt and the weight of all the horrible acts she has committed. The same way we do. She has to be better."

"I agree, but to be clear, you are the best and kindest person i know, Vee. I believe she will be good because her mother is a queen and a good one even if the prophecy wasn't real, it is the truth." when he says this I tear up, I don't know how I got so lucky to have him as mine, seriously I'm blessed.

i throw my arms around him , careful not to wake Eva up, this lasts about 5 minutes because there was a loud bang and screaming coming from the cell Juliet was in. Not long after, Eva lets out an ear-piercing scream.

"We definitely have to do something about her-" Luke pauses, and looks down at Eva, he then hands Eva to me with a heavy sigh.

"Stay here with her" he then makes his way into the room. After a few impatient moments, i follow with Eva. I decided if she was stupid enough to try and hurt a baby, she wasn't worth saving and she wasn't worth empathy. I would end her right then and there, and I made sure to share that thought with Luke through the mind link.

When i turn and enter the room, there's Juliet hanging off the ceiling staring at us like we are the ones being weird.

"How are you two alive? I thought grandpa Jeremy killed you all." her voice was small, like she didn't trust herself, but still firm and strong, She didn't seem like the crazed woman on the roof earlier.

" You don't remember the conversation we had on the roof" i asked , before she could speak Luke interrupted her.

"Or the crazy screaming and shadow figures we fought? " Luke asked with his arms crossed. He was getting irritated, i could tell. Dee, his beast was flickering through.

"Look I have a lot going on, I've been through a lot, and I'm sure you have too. I can't really explain, can you guys just let me go, I won't every bother you guys again we can just go back to not knowing each other. " She said in an uninterested voice. Like we were inconveniencing her.

What is with this girl, it's like she has a personality disorder.

"Well we aren't doing that for many reasons, but the most important one is after we killed your shadow buddies you told us "he will make you pay" and me and my wife just had a conversation about being good, and I'm not really trying to have to kill more people. Do you see the dilemma?" My attitude is definitely rubbing off on him.

"I won't tell you anything , the only thing that connects us is our blood, I don't know you and I already apologized for trying to kill you. Now i don't see any other options, but to let me go or kill me. You cannot keep me held captive in this dingy place forever, so what's it going to be?" i could see more in her, there's something she's afraid of. She's holding back. i know she feels the familiarity of Luke and how calm being around her own blood makes her. It's a wolf thing and she is part wolf. I know I can get through to her, and I won't stop until I do.

"Well, there is a third option" i saw finally breaking the bicker , they both turn to me waiting to hear what i have to propose.

" You get you know us and your baby cousin Eva, and we build a new home and reconnect our family. We've all been through so much. We can heal and build together. All you have to do is have faith. We are blood."

They look at me for a few minutes and look at each other. Juliet is the first to break the silence.

"No"
