Luke came home when night fell and he had a bag full of food. I was happy because I was starving but the suspense of waiting to open the letter was killing me, as soon as he came flying in I grabbed his arm and sat him down on the couch.

Once I caught him up on everything he missed while he was out except the letter we got and he had an expression on his face I haven't seen before . I take this time to really look at my husband, he looks very tired . Like he's defeated. I havent asked him about how he is or what the world is like and I can tell he's going through stuff but he's blocked me from his mind.

I know he's stressed about everything so I decided not to tell him  about the note for now , I would read it and depending on how bad it was I would tell him sooner or later.

Pulling the letter form my pocket I was shocked at what I saw

"Dear auntie vee and uncle Luke,

I'm so happy you all are finally awake I missed you guys, it hasn't been the same since you guys left. My mother may was a mess and my father cole was even worse, he started a war with the humans and was killed . Once My mother found out you guys were being kept by the scientists she took me and made a deal with a demon to keep me safe until the time was right . Eventually the demon came back for my mom and took her away. Please come meet me at the top of this building . I've been living here all this time....alone.

I couldn't believe it, Juliet is alive. that means may and Cole aren't. they would never leave Juliet by herself like this. I walk over to Luke who was staring out of the window in deep thought, I wish he would let me in, I'm his wife I'm supposed to be there for him. I place my hand on his shoulder and he turns to me trying to muster a small smile but I could see right through it.

I hand Luke the letter and watch his face to see what he's thinking, his face frowned and his eyes scanned the paper multiple times, after a while I ask him what he was thinking.

"I'm thinking it might be another trap or lie it's been over a hundred years since our time and sad to say we don't know Juliet and we need to protect Eva."

"Vee what the fuck? I don't blame you for anything you know that. But have you learned nothing? We can't trust anyone and It's different now we're in an unknown world! you haven't been out there you don't understand!" Luke was furious with me . That's when I took the time to realize he hasn't had any time to adjust here.

He's been Getting food for us and the doctor everyday and I haven't even asked how he's dealing with what's happening to us now that he's had time to think about things.

"Luke look at me please."  He turns to me and he has tears in his eyes , he has me blocked from our link and it hurts me, but I understand he's hurting and I need to take care of him right now.

"My brothers and sisters are gone forever vee, I've been with my siblings for thousands of years, even if we didn't talk for centuries I always felt them, I always knew they were around and now that's just gone. I'm sorry but I can't stand to see Juliet. I just can't not yet. It doesn't even make sense I know i should be happy but it's too much for me right now, I'm barely holding on."

"I understand Luke I miss them too I grew to love them as my own . I'm here for you if you need to cry, scream or just sit in my arms you know I'm here my love forever. You stay here with Eva and the doctor, I will go see Juliet. "

"I really don't want you going either vee but I can see this is important to you so go, if I feel even am inkling that something is wrong I'm flying through the roof and I'm not playing." He gives me a serious look and I can't help but smile, I love him so much.

I peck him on the lips and wink as I make my way out the door. Now that I think about it, it's been months and I haven't stepped out that apartment, granted there's a giant hole in the living room and I can see the world around me but actually going out and leaving Eva isn't an option. She needs me.

I walk down the dim broken down hallway and wonder how this building is still standing. The ceiling is missing pieces, there are giant cracks in the walls and I'm pretty sure the building is slightly slanted.

Walking further I peak into the apartment rooms seeing if there's anyone lurking and I hear a ruffle and a deep painful sounding moan. It was quiet but I heard and I paused turning my head slowly, finding a disfigured creature.

It looked like it could've been human, it had on a worn blazer that was cover in blood and dirt and a tie. Its pants were ripped. It seems like it's been in these clothes for ages. Its face was covered in warts and it had blood red eyes with no pupils, its skin was a sicking grey and its nose was severed.

It opened its mouth to shriek, and 4 worms came me flying at me with sharp teeth. I used my magic to burn it before it could get close to me, unfortunately having not used my magic in years, i over did it and set everything in my path a blaze, and it was burning quickly, I didn't want to bring any attention to our location. Who knows how many more things are in the building.

I finally make it up to the roof of the building and as I reach to open the door I find that it's locked. I think about knocking but find that would be kinda weird.

I'm kinda having a bad feeling about this Vee, we don't know who she grew up to be, and it's been over a century.

Piper she's our godchild, we have to help her. We can protect her .

She left again. I hate it when we fight, but for now I have to trust my gut. It's the right thing to do and if Eva was alone in the world, I would want someone to try and help her to no matter what. I owe this to May.

I use my strength to break off the door knob and quietly push open the door, when I open it I find something I thought I'd never see again
