I still hate you

I walk down the halls next to my best friend Alex. It's been this way since elementary school us against the world. We planned on making new friends this year though. It's to bad we were in different classes. I hug her and we part ways I walk into class and see everyone already grouped together. I sigh and take my seat when I over hear these two girls talking about their boyfriends. I mean already where only in eighth grade. I don't know what to do these girls seem like they would be good friends. I know I won't be able to fit in anywhere else. Besides lying about having a boyfriend isn't that bad. Right?

"You know my boyfriend is the sweetest he treats me like I'm a princess." I say and they look over at me.

"Lucky mine barely takes me out." The girl with red hair states her blue eyes staring into my brown ones.

"Mine doesn't always answer his phone." The other girl says her brown hair falls into her face she moves it to reveal a pair of hazel eyes.

"You can't always find a diamond am I right."

"Preach." The red head says

"Im Ava." The brunet says and I nod.

"Natalie." The red head says

"Phoenix."

"Wow that's a first."

"I know but I like it."

"So your boyfriend what's he like?" Oh no here come more lies.

"You know brown hair brown eyes." I say might as well give him my features.

"What else?" Ava asks only making me nervous. Time to do what I do best, and lie like hell.

Three months I've been keeping up with this lie. But we've become great friends they even like being friends with Alex. I walk into the bathroom and head to a stall. I hear the door open again and two girls laughing.

"How's my hair?" I then realize it's Ava I'm about to come out when Natalie talks.

"Fine but I'm telling you something doesn't sit right. I don't think Phoenix has an actual boyfriend."

"Why?"

"Come one she never has any pictures of him and she gets all nervous when we ask about him."

"Maybe your right."

"Come on you know I'm right. Have you seen her what guy would fall for that." Tears spring to my eyes as they laugh and leave the bathroom.

After they leave I rush out and run out of school. There's a park not to far from here so I go there. I sit on then bench and try to think of a way out of this. I just need a picture of him right? I can just take a picture of some guy and then they'll stop asking questions and we can go back to being friends. I look around the park and realize there sure are a lot of guys here. I then remember he needs to have brown hair and brown eyes and be taller then me. I look and the list narrows down. I then see one boy he's taller then me and has dark brown hair and eyes. I take my phone out and snap a picture but I then realize the flash was on. He looks at me and my eyes widen and I run away. I run back to school and walk into class late. The teacher glares at me and I just sit in my seat. The bell rings and I meet up with my friends.

"Hey guys so I know you've been wanting to see a pic my boyfriend. So here you go." I say and show them my phone.

"Wow he's so cute." Natalie says and Ava looks at my phone rather curious.

"I swear I've seen him before." My eyes widen and I take my phone away from them.

"Yeah okay." I say and they raise an eyebrow at me.

"Isn't that him?" Ava says I turn around and see she's right. I also notice he's walking this way.

"Well if it isn't the mysterious boyfriend we've been hearing about." Ava says and he's about to say something when I drag him away. I pull him into an empty class room.

"Aren't you the girl from earlier?" He asks and I sigh as I look at him and realize he is cute.

"I'm sorry but I took your picture and showed it to my friends saying you were my boyfriend. I've been lying to them so that we could all stay friends. I'm sorry for asking you this but will you play along. Please I'm desperate." I beg him and he gives me a warm smile.

"Sure." My eyes widen and I look at him shocked. Is he really that nice like wow.

"Are you being serious?"

"Yes I'll be your pretend boyfriend, but in return you have to cater to my every whim."

"What no way." I say and look at him in disbelief and a smirk spreads across his face.

"Fine then have fun telling your friend you lied to them." He says and is about to walk out of the classroom when I stop him.

"Fine."

"Perfect give me your phone so I can put my information it." He says and I hand him my phone when he's done he hands it back.

"Okay let's go eat lunch together." He says and walks out I hurry to catch up to him and walk next to him. We sit next to each other at the table with my friends.

"So your Phoenix's boyfriend?" Natalie asks and he gives them a big smile.

"Yes my name is Calum. Calum Hood." He then slings his arm around my shoulder. I blush a bit and my friends awe at us.

"Wish my boyfriend wasn't in high school." Ava says and Natalie agrees. Alex raise an eyebrow at me and I give her a look that says I'll explain later.

"Get me some lunch will ya Phoenix." He says and I glare at him as he gives me a smug smile.

"No thanks."

"Oh then I have something to say." He removes his arm from me and I get up.

"Fine." I mumble and get up realizing what a mess I got myself into.
