Present Day (A little away from Rakesh's house)
Guru was sitting in his jeep. His clothes were stained with blood, his eyes full of rage. One hand was on the steering wheel, the other on Rakesh's face—he had slapped Rakesh three times after the hospital incident. Guru had become a nightmare for Rakesh, one he could never forget.
Guru removed his hand from Rakesh's face, signaling him to get out. Groaning in pain, Rakesh stumbled out of the jeep and had just started walking toward his house when a police jeep arrived and began looking for him. To save himself, Rakesh ran away, but the police arrested his wife.
The news that Rakesh was behind the Mumbai murders spread like wildfire. Every news channel was after him, and the police had taken his wife, Sulochana, and their son, Manish, into custody. Trying to escape, Rakesh went to a red-light area with his friend Birjesh. Birjesh had good contacts there and arranged a place for them to stay the night.
Birjesh: I always thought you were a loser. But you proved me wrong. Do you know how many blessings you must've gotten from the men whose wives you killed? But what was wrong with our friendship? Why did you spare my wife?
Tina (a sex worker): Why are you just sitting here? Hey, handsome. Want to come to the pool?
Birjesh: Tell me something. Want to sing a solo song with him or a duet with both of us?
Tina: Looks like your friend isn't into solos or duets. Maybe he's impotent. Or he likes men.
Birjesh: You're talking too much. You don't know my friend.
Tina: Come on, have a drink.
Birjesh: Darling, where's the ice?
Tina: I'll get it.
Birjesh: Hot girls always forget to bring the coldest thing.
Rakesh (frustrated): Who is this man after me?
Birjesh: He's also his wife's lover—just like you. I'm sure he's the husband of one of the women you killed. He's playing with you. Just like a lion plays with its prey in the jungle. He catches it, lets it go, then catches it again. As long as you keep running, he'll keep chasing. The day you turn the tables, you'll be the hunter, and he'll be the prey.
Rakesh remembered Guru's words:
Guru: "I won't let you die. But I'll still kill you every day. The more you try to embrace death, the longer you'll live. You killed my baby."
Rakesh now understood who this devil was. Early the next morning, he quietly left, and while walking down the road, he saw his wife's interview on TV.
Sulochana: My husband is the kindest, most honest man in the world. Him being a murderer? That's impossible. I'm telling you, even the police are involved. They're working with Guru. They'll kill my husband and frame him for everything. I beg you—please save my Rakesh. Please save him, God! If you send him back to me, I promise I'll never ask him to leave the house. I won't ever fight with him again. Please bring my Rakesh back. I love you, Rakesh. Are you listening? Please come home.
Rakesh (muttering): Sulu...
Sulochana (on TV): Wherever you are, come home. I love you, Rakesh.
Rakesh: I love you, Sulu.
Guru was asleep in his jeep when his phone rang.
Rakesh: Ayush Verma. Sai Kripa Society. Versova. That was his address, right?
