I slip a scoop of the Pennette with Spicy Tomato Sauce into Kyle's mouth and he chews and swallows, "Well?" I ask, "How is it?" I ask again.
"Mmm," he said tapping his chin, now I am worried that I messed up on his food, "It's perfect. You did a good job, now stop worrying." He said smiling. I just frowned and then rolled my eyes.
"You made me worry Kyle." I then laughed, "But I am glad that you like it though." I laughed again as I place the fork down. We had finished cleaning the house in about two hours. Our highest record yet! We had cleaned the kitchen, the living room, the family room, the dining room, our two bathrooms, and all five rooms in the house. I smile as Kyle took a bite of his food.
"What are you smiling about?" He asks me, failing on raising his eyebrow. I just smiled even more and then busted out laughing. After awhile and calmed down and he asked again, "What are you laughing about?"
"How we were able to finish cleaning the house so quick, and then I was laughing because you failed at trying to raise you eyebrow. You know that you don't have that much talent to do that you know." I smiled.
"True, but I obviously have enough talent to do this." He then leaned in and brushed my lips. Then he pulled back and took another bite of his food. I saw him smirk and I just scoffed.
"You teased me." I then gave him my best sad face, and I did a fake sniffle like I was crying. I looked down and hoped that my trick would work.
He then lifted up my chin, "I'm sorry." He said. I fought my best to keep the sad face on and succeeded. "How can I make it up?" He asked me.
I then tapped my chin, "Well," I said, "You could come with me today to go see my manager to ask him to let me work again." I said slightly smiling.
"Did you get fired?" He asked me in a shockingly way.
I widened my eyes and vigorously shook my head, "No way! I just took a month off, but my brother said that I should get back to work so I will be able to pay the bills and groceries and stuff that he," I hesitated, "that he use to do." I then looked down and frown. My eyes start to water but I wipe them away.
"Hey, hey, don't cry Soph," Kyle cooed lifting my head again. I looked at him, and I can see concern in his eyes. "You don't need to cry. Hopefully he will be able to work again, but I don't think that he would be able to get that much money since he is disabled or he might have to get a different job. But let's not think about that now." He said smiling. "We should go to your job and ask for the manager to give you back your job. He then held out his hand and I grabbed onto it. We then exited out of the house and drove to my work place, hoping that my manager would let me get my job back for the sake of my brother.
After we had talked with my manager, he let me get my job back. I was very happy about that. We left Taco Bell and went out to Red Lobster to have some dinner. We got into line and talked about how we will be able to live from the fires destruction. Kyle said that mayor was doing his best by buying wood for all of the houses that were burned down, and hoped that all of the families would be able to live in their house in about four to six months. But the down side to it was that winter was coming, which meant snow, which means freezing cold weather.
Our house luckily didn't get burned, but a lot of houses did. I was thinking that we could house one or maybe two small families could live with us until their house was up and running. Kyle thought was a good idea and he agreed that he would do that too. I would have to obviously have to get Andrew's permission of course since it is his house, and he will have to be in bed all the time when he does get home. We were seated in a booth and we were already getting ideas of how we would be able to get families into our house. We thought that we should a volunteer banner and try to get as many people as we could to sign up to let families into their houses for shelter and food. But there were some downsides to this idea; most of the houses were burned down, so everybody's houses will be cramped, especially if people didn't want to do it. But we thought it was a good idea, so we asked for a pin and started drawing banner ideas on our napkins. We had finally found a good banner idea. It has the words of: Help the Homeless People by Homing Them until Their Houses Are Built! We thought of a design for the banner, but we couldn't really think of one, so we just left it and ate our freshly cooked dinner.
I had gotten a roasted lobster with a stuffed potato, with pink lemonade, and Kyle got the same thing, but he got mashed potatoes instead of a stuffed one. Kyle paid for the dinner and we left to go back to my place. It was late by the time we had gotten home, so we just went to my room and fell asleep. Me hoping for a good night sleep and praying that Andrew will get completely healed.
