The late sun began to make its way around the other part of the world, but for the city it seemed it went to tuck itself to sleep and the night along the moon would just pop into the sky. Before the sun gave its last goodbye,a pale blue mixed in with light pink and brave orange merged together above the late daylight. The city lights began to flicker;every soon-to-be dark pathway and stores would soon have to flip to the end of their shifts.Buildings that reached the mere beginning of the sky filled the city of Maryland. Even at this hour, the people of the city enjoyed to go for a fresh walk or jog. The city was always alive; day or night. But,away from the city, came an enriching neighborhood squeezed in a protecting wall or area and secured with a pin only residents knew to the grand white gate. Great big houses of different colors aligned next to each other in perfect rows. Their front lawns mowed everyday, for it was one of the rules, but decorations outside were all different and/or optional. Anyways, a few blocks down the third row of this perfect neighborhood, sat a golden grand house with a few trimmed bushes and a few pots of fresh flowers dangled from the porch roof. Along the golden colored wall a fresh glass, marble bench attached to it; a luxury. The front door suddenly creaked open and a young girl walked out and sat in the bench.A nice breeze tickled her brown curls and made her square bangs sway with the breeze. From her eyes view, she could get an admiring view of the days last light. Her light brown eyes glimmered and she let out a relaxing sigh. She dressed in her favorite, comfortable shorts and baggy sweater. She was at home; she really didn't care how she dressed there. It was her only time to slouch into something lazy. As she gently closed her eyes for a moment, three boys with cooled sweat across their foreheads, turned the corner to this row of houses. One of the boys suddenly burst out an 'ah', amused by something. He quickly yelled out,"Do it again blaze!" Theboy with messy, caramel hair smirked while the taller and muscular friend to his right rolled his brown eyes at him. Blaze, once again at his games, snapped hisfingers and a small hot flame light up at the spot. He then moved the small flame around his hand and the guy with black spiky hair bounced with amazement.
"Could I try?Come on, lemme try,"he insisted.
"I don't think-
"Okay. Okay.Whatever you wish,"Blaze suddenly interrupted the tall tanned guy with a kick of an elbow.
Blaze suddenly stopped and smiled a little bigger. He looked at his work of flame and looked at the boys' face full of excitement in front of him.The boy extended his hand. "Ready?"asked Blaze. The tall guy placed a hand on Blazes shoulder and said,"Come on man,you know-"
"Orion stop being just a killer joy, just shut up and watch!"Blaze told Orion. The small flame flickered and became a little bigger. Orion quickly removed his hand from his shoulder and backed up.Blaze returned his gaze at the boy and tossed the small flame to the palm of his hand. When the hot flame met the palm of his hand, the boy shrieked in pain and shook his burnt hand in the air. Blaze burst out laughing and hugged himself from the light pain growing in his stomach from the laugh. 'Only i can handle fire' he thought. The boy glared at Blaze.
"You did that on purpose. What the fuck man! OH I'll get ya,"the red faced boy shot at Blaze. Blazes smile faded away. A dark shadow lurked from the darkness and came into sight. It crept behind Blaze as the boy nodded at him. The shadow became darker and bigger, casting a scary shadow over Blaze. He turned around and gasped.
"Lowell, Enough! Cut it out!"yelled Orion. The black monster snapped and faded away.Blaze placed his right hand over his fast-beating heart. Lowell glared at Blaze and then crossed his arms across his small fit chest.
'My dark power sure made him shit his pants' Lowell thought. His freckles were once hidden from his redden face, but now were more visible as he cooled down. Blaze straighten up and playfully shoved Lowell. Lowell knitted his brows and huffed.
"Comeon, admit it. That was pretty funny and you should've seen your face all--"when he saw that Lowell still frowned at wouldnt budge, he then added more thoughtfully, "Ok I'm sorry. I should have told you". Lowell slowly turned to face Blaze and punched him in the shoulder. Blaze rubbed his shoulder with a groan."So I'm guessing we're good," He said. Lowell only smiled. Orion walked up to the boys and hugged them by their necks.
"Alright. You guys made up...no more googly eyes," He joked. He then grabbed the two boys by their waists and swinged them up into air. That is --A little too strong because they went flying way up high. When gravity pulled them down,Orion gasped and ran to catch them in his big arms. Blaze and Lowell turned slightly green from the flight, making a slight gagging sound.Orion held them for a few more seconds and apologized. Night was approaching fast and the boys seemed to notice, but when they faced their way back to their route l, a young girl stayed glued in their path. Her jaw was slightly open and blinked a few times. She rubbed her eyes once more with her small ,cream hands in order to see if her eyes weren't mistaken. She couldn't believe all of what happened right in front of her eyes. The boys cringed at the realization that they were watched at play. 'THIS.IS. BAD' Blaze thought. Finally, Orion sighed and brushed back his dark brown hair. He took a step forward.
"How long have you been standing there?" He questioned the girl. She cleared her throat and tried to collect the right words. 'Oh my god.Stay cool, but what do I say?!' she planned.
"I--I'm,"She stuttered. She inhaled some air, counted up to 5 in her mind and exhaled slowly. She straightened up and now that she was more relaxed she added,"I saw...Everything".
The boys cursed under their breath. It was now dark; night had crept in without them noticing. The only light that shone above them was the light from the pole. Blaze grabbed some of his hair and clenched his jaw. How would they explain the unexpected things to the girl?'She will tell everyone! No she can't...anyways they wouldn't believe her' He thought.
Since the young girl felt ashamed already she decided to break the silence. She waved for their attention and called out,"I'm--I'm Lucia Quezz, but call me Lucy. I swear I won't tell anyone at all. I swear". The truth was inside her heart she knew the reason why she was so nervous and shocked. A really surprising good reason--she was one of them too. When she extended her hand, Blaze sighed and walked over to shake her hand.
"I'm Blaze--,"He stopped in the middle of his sentence when he got a better view Lucy. She was beautiful and he'd seen her before. He gawked. She narrowed her eyes. "Wait, you're that girl from the limo?!"
"You're that boy who waved at me when I got in my limo?!"
They both exclaimed at the same time. Orion and Lowell stepped behind Blaze and looked at Lucy. A small pink soon appeared on her checks. 'Thank god its dark enough for them not to notice' she thought, blussing. She smiled as the boys nodded in agreement. Lucy let go of Blazes grip. He smiled as well.
"I have to tell you gu--"When Lucy was about to confess, a familiar voice called out for her. Lucy turned her attention to the motherly voice. She looked back at the boys and said,"I have to go but please find me tomorrow. That's my house over there". She pointed towards her golden home. She smiled and ran towards the growing yelling; her brown curls bouncing with her steps and disappeared inside. The boys nodded. They looked at eachother and then towards the dark. They began to walk back home.
