More lights and sounds accompanied the morning later on. The sun seemed more awake and beating, now at least an hour after its' wake up call. More dim lights flickered on to help illuminate the way, the suns' rays already doing most of the work. The city roared with car honking and machine pumping like always. The other colors formed early in the sky soon were replaced by the usual blue and white clouds patched about.

On the contrast to the beautiful formation of the new day, it seemed to become bitter for Lucy and her guy friends. She cringed against her mothers' appearance and looked at her with eyes to read why she was outside so early and with a group of unknown guys with her. Her mother standing tall by the back door, decided to put her hands on her hips. Her auburn hair burned lightly against the bright sunlight and her face seemed tired, the light bags under her brown eyes revealing low hours of sleep, but young with age. Her hair tied up in a very messy bun accompanied her effortless look of blue sweatpants and a rather big top. Her breasts hanged freely, but with the big t-shirt, it was barely noticeable. Lucy in her mind made the notice and turned to look at the three guys somewhat behind her. Their faces seemed to be filled with guilt and troublesome eyes. She tried to calm them down by giving them a small comforting smile. She turned to her mother again and began to explain exactly what occurred with her bow and arrow; only to demonstrate that she was equal to them. She knew her mother was not a strict parent, she was quite understanding and cool. But there were times in which she didn't approve or took the wrong idea if something was not correctly explained.

"Mom, they're like me. All this time I clinger to the idea that I was the only one on earth to have such gift, but really, I'm not and here they are," she said while turning to fully face the guys. Lucy called to her mother, still facing the boys and continued, "The one with caramel hair is Blaze, able to control fire. The tall, muscular one is Orion, having the ability of great strength and the one with black spiky hair and freckles is Lowell; he can control demons or I don't know. Maybe dark powers and wealth". They all smiled awkwardly at the serious mother. She only raised one eyebrow at them.

"If I may, she is telling the truth ma'am and we are sorry if we are causing any disturbance," Lowell spoke up. Lucy's mom heaved a sigh and said, "I believe her. I should've told her sooner or I was planning to anyways and I understand. Please come inside, I think we all have to discuss something". With that she turned around and slid the back door open and walked inside, allowing them to follow her. The guys looked at each other and then at Lucy, but she was already walking inside and so they followed.

'The things we get into,' Blaze thought. He examined the wide kitchen to the left, the cabinets made finely of polished wood. It seemed wide and spacious, but still small enough. A kitchen just right that any mother would love to cook in. A round, brown table stood to the left. Its' companions seated neatly and tucked mostly under. Down the small hallway leading to a big living room filled with fine furniture, Lucy's mother took a turn left and just along the stairs. When another small hallway came in sight, she turned left again and turned the knob to the dark blue door. Orion examined the pictures dangling all around the hallway walls. He smiled at one specifically where a small girl identical to Lucy, just younger, smiling right into the camera with a big somewhat toothless smile. He thought on how cheerful she looked and how she seemed to still have good personality traits. Lowell seemed to be checking his phone while walking behind Orion. He only thought how 'okay' the house was; nothing compared to his. They all finally meet by the blue door with Lucy's mother and a straight tunnel of darkness leading to something more down some few stair steps. Blaze widened his eyes with the thought, 'for all we know this woman can murder us all. Just right down there'. Lucy placed her hand by his arm, like she had felt her uneasiness and gave a reassuring look back to the others. Lucy's' mom began to walk down the stairs without doubt, and when she reached the bottom, she felt around some part of the wall, her touch guiding her to a light switch. In less than a second, the dark tunnel turned bright. The teenagers followed down the stairs and met Lucy's' mother, already seating on a metal chair. With a move of her hand, she conducted them to do the same. Blaze grabbed a chair first and spun it backward in order for him to sit with his hands dangling from/with the back of the chair. He flipped some of his messy hair from his eyes and smiled at the mother looking at him. Lowell positioned the chair correctly forward and when he sat down he instantly crossed one leg on top of the other. Orion grabbed a chair and sat down. His legs slightly open and leaned back, but normal at most. Lucy was last to sit down, placing his hands on top of her small but strong legs. They all sat quietly, ready to listen to what Lucy's' mom had to say.

"So as you may already know, you all have your own special gift," she began.

"And I think I know why and how exactly..."

----------------------------------------------

It can only begin with one dark night, when Lucy's mom sat by her desk, her energy low and dropping with every ounce of movement she did. She placed a paper down and rubbed her eyes with her hands. Tears soon whelmed up in her eyes and flowed down her face. She sniffed and tried to rub off the tears, but more replaced them. She looked down at her stomach and placed her hand gently against it. "Why me...." She mourned. The thing was, she was just informed that she wasn't able to have kids. She had been desiring the touch of a baby of hers, to be able to hug it in her arms, to give him or her all the love she could possibly give, but it all raced down the drain. She traced the diamond ring on her left hand finger, she felt such a failure as a woman. As she stood up, tears dried hard against her cheeks, she heard a faint knock on the door. She raced down the doors and instantly opened the door, where a very young and beautiful woman stood with something resting between her arms. She said no words and neither did her. She only smiled brightly and handed her what was in her hands, a tin blanket covering a wonderful baby girl. She opened her mouth suddenly, but the young woman placed her two fingers against her forehead and everything was explained. When she opened her eyes, the young woman with strong features and amazing grey eyes had vanished. She looked around and suddenly at the baby in her arms. By her face, tagged in the blanket, was what looked to be an owl and strange words. She traced the babies face, admiring with every ounce of love. She walked inside with her new and first baby. She guided herself toward the living room and sat down gently on one of the newly bought brown furniture. She smiled at the baby and thought of how much of a miracle she was. As she closed her eyes, a low beam gleamed right in her eyelids and slowly it felt like the same light flowed through her veins, traveling throughout every inch of her body. When she opened her eyes, a small beating warmth had grasped her finger, and just as smile as the small can be, the pureness of it was bigger. She cooed at the baby with love, love at first sight.

"Lucy", she spoke clearly, finally.

The next morning, when she arose from bed, half amused and half scared; if maybe all of what she had experienced was only a beautiful dream, but it was a living dream. The baby rested beside her bed, in the small baby cradle that had been bought for the planned baby. This baby was not exactly as planned, but with the news exposed to her yesterday, she was just the same; maybe better. She reached over and traced her fingers along the baby soft skin. The young mother (as of now) slowly pulled the covers off her, careful not to wake her snoring husband and walked to the bathroom quietly. She would soon have to explain to him what had miraculously happened last night and while the bad news to it. She faced the mirror, examining her morning complexion, but in the while, she thought of the young woman and she thanked her aloud. Soon, it was like the young woman had heard her and appeared right in front of her, reflected in the mirror. This made her jump, but she held to the edges of the sink. The young woman smiled and informed, "I think you deserve to know the whole story, and while I am thrilled to know the fact that you are indeed worth of my child and grateful". The young mother only stood quietly; listening carefully to every word. The young woman continued, "Athena, is the name. I came to you only last night because I, as well, made a great sin. It is a great shame to know the great walls I had built to protect my true self, my strong qualities, had been broken down in an instant and for what I thought was love. Most cast me as many great things, but I think I just let down one that is up most important and valuable for any and every woman. I couldn't and can't let anyone know of the great sin I have committed; that is the baby that is now yours. And as cold as it sounds, I have no desire of what becomes of it; it is yours. Most importantly, that baby girl might have some powers reflected upon mine, yet she can be only mortal which would be luckily for me or on the far side of fate, she can turn out to be just both. That is my cold side of the story, just part maybe, of the other parts. Well, that is all I had to say. Goodbye". And with that, the young woman vanished, for sure this time, and left the young mothers reflection once more. She tried to grasp her mind of this. Her baby, Lucy, could now be really one of the gods? That young woman had just proved all those theories on greek myths right? Was this baby not the only one to be considered a sin? For all the questions racing in her mind, came small headaches, mixing all together. She placed one hand across her forehead and finally tried to believe it when the future came along to at least prove any one of this. Yet, this baby is not a sin, nor any baby, actually they are blessings. In her case, indeed, "a blessing from the gods".
