I smiled at a joke my sister, Sara, had just said while sipping my wine.
"Hey, how's everything with you and Oliver?" She asked. I put my wine down my smile now from ear to ear. The man I never got tired of talking about.
"Great! We decided to start looking at apartments together." I said. She smiled and then a silence filled the room. The silence held the conversation we had both been avoiding for the entire night. I looked down at my wine then back up at my older sister.
"I wanna see it." I said.
"And by it I mean our father." I quickly explained. He had always been such an abstract idea to me I guess he became an it in my mind. Sara looked down at her plate of food and sighed. She was a few years older than me. When we were little our father had decided he needed a warrior someone to be the next Rash Al Ghul when it was time so my mom was forced to hand Sara over. We saw her one week a month and that was it. The rest of the time she was training.
"No, Felicity, no you don't. He's cruel and evil. You wouldn't be able to handle him. That's why I left. That's why I became the Black Canary and joined team Arrow which you guys." She explained.
"You think I wouldn't be able to handle him?" I asked anger entering my system.
"Felicity, I didn't mean it like that." She said.
"Look just forget it. It was a stupid question." She sighed frowning.
"I'm sorry, Felicity, I'm just trying to protect you." She said.
"I know I get it." I lied.
"Let's just go down to the arrow cave Oliver's about to put money into his bank account for bait for the clock king. We should be ready for it." I said. Sara nodded relieved to be in a subject change.
"Well, let's go." we got up and went out to the car. Oliver and Diggle were there when we got there. The man we were handling right now was a bank robber with computer skills that were even better than mine. He hacked all of the computers at the cave and now none of them work so Diggle and I were going to start working in getting them fixed.
"Hey guys." I smiled. I walked over and gave Oliver a peck on the lips before sitting down in my chair at my normal spot. Not long after Sara and Oliver left to go do whatever it was they needed to do leaving me and Diggle alone.
As I typed away at the computers I thought about what Sara said about not being able to handle my own father. She was wrong. I needed to prove to her that I was strong to. I turned to Diggle.
"I'm going to go get some food want anything?" I asked. Diggle hadn't known I had just had dinner so he didn't suspect anything.
"Sure a burger would be nice." he said as I stood up.
"Alright, one burger from big belly burger on the way." I smiled and left the cave. I got in my car and drove straight to the bank where, if the clock king took the bait, I could prove myself.
I typed away at the computer at the front desk at the bank and grinned. He took the bait. I grabbed my phone and called Oliver.
"Hey." he said answering it.
"Tockman took the bate the money you had Walter deposit. I'm reading his signal at Starling National." I said.
"Wait how do you know that?" Oliver asked.
"Because I'm here." I cringed waiting for a response.
"What?" his voice sounded angry.
"It's fine." I said then I quickly hung up.
As I was typing at the computer I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and ducked behind the stand the computer was on. I screamed when someone grabbed me and pulled me up. Luckily and not so luckily it was Diggle.
I heard someone clear their throat and looked over at my boyfriend in his arrow suit and my sister in her Canary suit.
"What are you doing here?" he asked harshly.
"Tracking Tockman. He fried our computers so I'm tracking him form here." I explained.
"And the jacket?" Sara looked at the brown leather jacket that I had stopped by the house to take out of her closet of her closet on the way here.
"I was cold." I said.
"Diggle get her out of here." Oliver said clearly very pissed at me. Diggle grabbed my upper arm and we started walking when and alarm went off. I turned and ran back to the computer.
"Tockman disabled the security system I'll re-enable it." I began typing away at the computer and pulled up a security camera with the men on it.
"They're blocking our way out." Diggle said.
"I'll deal with them." Oliver said turning around and moving up the stairs.
"Tockman's signal is strong he's here he's close." I said as Sara came over next to me to look at the screen.
"Find him Felicity." Diggle ordered.
"No need." I heard Tockman's voice and the computer started glitching.
"I'll tell you exactly where I am everywhere. At the moment I'm particularly focused on the sub level. The gas mains specifically." he said. I pulled my tablet out and opened a map.
"Oh my gosh. He shut down a gas main release." I said.
"Why's that bad?" Sara asked.
"Build up can cause an explosion." Diggle said.
"It will. It will blow up!" I said.
"No it won't." Diggle said then he was on the move heading to stop the gas.
I looked at my tablet and walked around the stand Sara walking around the other way.
"Sara! In trying to blow us up he gave us a way to track him down." I grinned.
I told Sara and we ran to the part of the building he was at. Sara talked out her staff and was looking forward when I saw Tockman round a corner with a gun pointed at her.
"Watch out!" I screamed pushing her out of the way. I got shot in the shoulder.
I flinched and moved a bit. Sara sat up and bent over me. She then looked up at Tockman. Anger in her eyes.
"You don't even know why I'm doing this! I'm doing it for her!" he said. I assumed he was talking about his sister with cancer.
"That doesn't make it right." Sara said. He didn't say anything. He just pointed the gun at her. Before he could shoot I spoke up.
"Time flies." then I hit a button on my tablet and his cell phone exploded asking him fall over.
"What was that?" Sara asked standing up and running over to him and kicking the gun away.
"His cell phone. I uploaded the same virus for our computers on his phone." I explained as she stood over his body.
"I didn't kill him did I?" I asked.
"Just knocked him out." She said. Then she ran back over to me and bent down.
"We did it." I said.
"You did it." She smiled.
Later I was sitting on a metal table in the arrow cave and Sara was stitching up my wound.
"Are you sure you don't want to go to a hospital?" Oliver asked him and Diggle's backs facing me since I was in only a bra.
"I'm sure. You guys never go to hospitals." I said.
"I wouldn't be here if you hadn't been so brave." She said.
"We're sisters. You're my family. What is you is me." I said with a smile.
"But if I was so brave I think there is something else I can handle." I said with a grin.
"We'll talk about it later." She said. Oliver and Diggle didn't know about our father. That was our secret.
"What are you talking about?" Oliver asked.
"Sisterly stuff." I replied. I heard him sigh but he didn't press. When Sara was finally done I put a shirt back on and informed the men they could turn back around.
"I'm so glad you're okay." Oliver said coming over to me. I hugged him.
"I am to." I said my voice muffled by his chest. I looked up into his eyes and we kissed.
"Come on, Fel, let's go home." Sara said. I smiled at Oliver as I pulled out of his embrace and followed Sara up the stairs and out the door.
