Stalin's POV:
Spring is coming.
The flowers are blooming, the trees appear to be greener than ever, the sky becomes a crisp, clear blue during the day.
This is my favourite time of year.
Lenin's POV:
I despise this time of year.
I no longer want the bitter cold of winter, and I long for the mild summer days. The long summer nights where worries feel miles away.
Although I guess I like the fact that there's always baby animals around this time of year.
Today is the day of a very important meeting in the communist party.
We hope to soon overthrow the weak af tsar, and take power for ourselves.
I came up with a banging motto as well that everyone obsesses over.
"Peace, bread, land."
Fear I ate and left no crumbs with that one.
Stalin's POV:
Today I'm attending an extremely important meeting.
I haven't been told too much about it, as it's top secret info, but I reckon it's about overthrowing the tsar.
I can't bloody wait.
I just...I just wish Lenin would be there, by my side, when it all goes down eventually.
I walk into the conference hall, and find an empty seat.
I scan the room looking for a certain communist fittie. But he is not here currently.
A member approaches the podium at the front and clears his throat.
He begins with a greeting and the usual formalities at the beginning of these meetings.
But this one is different, there's a certain energy in the room, a buzz.
I don't listen much to the speaking member's Russian waffling, until he introduces someone by name whom I know all too well.
"Lenin." He returns to his seat in the front row and Lenin stands up and takes his place at the podium.
He begins to speak of the impending revolution, and watching him I feel like I did a year ago, sat in this same room, wondering who that light-haired hottie was.
He speaks passionately and boldly, until he catches sight of me in the second row from the back.
He hesitates slightly, his gaze lingering, then he rips it away and regains confidence to continue.
Lenin's POV:
Stalin is here.
Of course he is.
Watching me with more admiration I've ever seen in anyone's eyes.
He made me mess up. Just the sight of him was enough to give me a heart attack.
But I quickly regain my focus and continue.
When I finish I receive a massive round of applause, and can't help but blush, aw shucks 😏
I quickly rush out of the room once the meeting ends in order to not bump into...you know who.
When I step outside I realise it's dark, I've been working most of the day and that speech took up basically all of the early evening.
I begin my walk home but take a detour to walk beside the river.
It had frozen over during winter but now it was brought back to life. Yet I missed the beautiful pristine ice that used to cover the water like a blanket.
I sit by the river for a while, at peace with my own thoughts.
I look up and notice a grey cloud lingering above.
I throw a couple of rocks into the river, listening to the splash and watching them sink. Then my own heart sinks when I hear footsteps behind me.
I whip my head around only to be met with an all too familiar face.
"No Stalin." I say coldly. "Not now."
I begin to walk away, past him.
It begins to rain.
Stalin's POV:
It begins to rain.
"Lenin, baby, please listen to me." I say desperately, following him.
I would follow him anywhere, even into hell itself.
"Listen, I know you're not sure about this, and you're confused and- and scared. And believe me, I am too! But the one thing I'm not confused about is that...that I want you."
He stops walking, finally. But he does not turn to look at me.
"I believe we can do this," I continue, "I genuinely think we can figure this out, make it work. I want to make it work, Len, need to. I need you."
Rain is drenching my clothes now, making my shirt see through and soaking my hair.
Lenin's POV:
He's never looked fitter. With his hair dripping wet, and shirt clinging to his six pack.
I have to try hard not to get distracted.
His words move me. He clearly cares about me.
He continues to babble, waffling about loving me and wanting to try at this, even if we fail. Until I can't take it anymore.
"STALIN FOR FUCKS SAKE I LOVE YOU AND OF COURSE I WANT TO TRY. I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. NOW WILL YOU SHUT UP?"
Tears form in his eyes.
"You didn't just say that to shut me up, right?" He looks genuinely worried.
"No, no of course not. I mean every last word Stalin."
"You're willing to try?"
I think it over quickly one last time.
"Yes."
A massive grin spreads across his face and before I know it he's pulling me towards him and his lips crash into mine.
We're both soaking wet, but we both don't care.
The rain runs in between our lips as we kiss.
Raindrops fall from his hair onto my face.
My trousers are stuck uncomfortably to my skin.
But I couldn't care less. Because if Stalin's lips are on mine, and as long as they are, nothing else in the world matters.
Only he matters. Only us.
Now there's an us.
