Stalin's POV:
It all began when Lenin came up with this fuck ass idea that we should get fake girlfriends in order to appear "less suspicious".
I don't really care about how we appear.
And I don't reckon just because we don't have any special women in our lives that people would assume we're gay?
We're just a couple of chill dudes not worried about that yet.
Too career-focused. That could be our excuse.
I told Lenin all of his but he was having none of it.
"Stalin we have to do something. People will talk. I'm going to stay on the look out for a nice girl that I can just date for a while so people don't start suspecting things, and I think you should too." He had said to me. Dead serious.
"But is that really fair?" I had countered. But he just shook his head and looked away.
"It's not about what's fair anymore, it's about survival."
He'd made it sound like fucking life or death.
But I guess in some sense...it was.
Anyway I decided I had no choice but to go along with it.
And sooner than later Krupskaya was in the picture.
Lenin's POV:
I met Krupskaya on a night out.
We were down at "Club for Commies" when I spotted her in all red.
I thought, thats the girl for me.
We started chatting and she seemed lovely.
I kissed her that night, and of course it felt nothing like it did with Stalin, but that was to be expected.
I talked it over with Stalin before asking her out.
He wasn't happy of course, and I understand that, but he has to realise these are the measures we need to take to stay under the radar.
He thinks it's unfair to Krupskaya. But I honestly don't see the problem.
I do genuinely like her, think she's fit and she's all for the revolution. My kind of gyal.
And that's enough at the moment.
Stalin needs to understand I'm doing all of this for him.
And today I'm introducing Krupskaya to Stalin, my "closest comrade".
Stalin's POV:
I'm sat in a cafe, waiting for Lenin to appear with Krupskaya, I don't really know what to expect, he hasn't revealed much. Whenever I asked he always just stated it was unimportant.
But Len and I are so close I must meet her at some point. It's inevitable.
Then I hear the bell above the door ring and in comes Lenin followed by a beauty young lady.
She's hot, I'll admit that.
But I can't help but feel a pang of jealousy in my chest.
She giggles at something he says, I roll my eyes, and they approach me both smiling. I hate this already.
I stand up from my chair and offer her my hand to shake.
She does so politely and takes a seat on the couch next to Lenin.
We make friendly conversation about the weather and the party.
But I'm distracted when I can't help but notice how close she is to him. Their shoulders side by side. Their arms touching.
I want to die sat on this side all by myself.
"So Stalin, I hear you're just as passionate about the revolution as my Lenin is," she smiles sweetly at me. But I can't help but hate her.
My Lenin.
"Uh yeah! Yep I'm all for it. Can't bloody wait." I put on a fake chirpy tone.
"Me neither to be honest, Lenin is so passionate about his work it's honestly inspiring." She grins at him, her pride evident. "And if you don't mind me saying, it's very attractive." She places a hand on his shoulder and moves her face closer to his.
Can't she see?
He doesn't want her.
He's an obvious twink for fucks sake.
I simply look away, pretend to be interested in what's going on out in the street.
I try to do this for most of the time she's here.
Lenin's POV:
Stalin's being rude. And I think he knows he is.
He's doing it on purpose to show how frustrated he is with this whole girlfriend situation.
And I can't lie, Krupskaya is all over me.
It can't be easy for him to watch. So I give him the benefit of the doubt.
When we leave the cafe, Krupskaya or Sky, as I've started calling her, gives Stalin a big hug.
He stiffens at first, but then gives in and hugs back. Over Sky's shoulder he pulls a face at me.
God he's so petty.
I kind of love it.
I say goodbye to Sky, kissing her on the cheek.
Wary not to do too much with Stalin stood right next to me, practically staring us down.
I walk Sky back to her place, and I'd promised Stalin we'd go somewhere afterwards, so he's waiting back at the flat.
We kiss goodbye and I promise to send her a letter soon telling her when we will next meet.
As I'm walking back i think about how I might react if one day Stalin got with a random girl and started kissing her in front of me.
I feel the jealousy rise within me.
So I decide to give him the benefit of the doubt for any coldness one was displaying towards Sky.
This can't be easy for him.
And even though I'm hiding it well, it's not easy for me either.
