Chapter 5: Pretend

What's up!! So, I am thinking about making a youtube channel! To you know, make funny videos and make peiple laugh. I was watching one of my favorite youtubers, Twaimz, and he did a game called Kiss, Marry, or Kill and its a really fun game and thatll probably be what my first video is about! Oh! And for the second one, I'll be doing a Q&A so leave any questions you might have for me in the comments or send me a message and I'll gladly answer them!! Alrighty, here we go!!

Eliza's p.o.v.: He texted me Okay!! That's a total TFIOS reference!! I didn't answer back after that, I mean, I didnt want to type back Okay and seem desperate or something. Ah!! I almost forgot, I need to start practicing for the winter showcase!! I grabbed my binder full of songs and started flipping through them. 'Hmmmmmm what to do?' I thought. "I like this one!" I said, taking the sheet music to Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart by Arianna Grande and smiled. It's August so I have a little time, but I need to make sure everythings perfect. I went out of my room and downstairs to the living room and grabbed my headphones before heading down the next set of stairs to my basement/ recording area. In this room I've got, a cello, guitar, bass guitar, drum kit, mic and stand, and a booth that holds another microphone and stand. I've sound proofed the walls So I can come in here anytime I want and do whatever I want. I pluggd my phone into the speakers and pulled up the karaoke version of my song. I presses play and stepped into the booth, putting on the headphones, and took a breathe.

*the next day*

I walked into the school and went straight up to my department. Since I got there early, no one else was there! I sat down in my corner and got my cello out from her case. I took out a random music piece and put it on the stand and started playing. It was nice, playing in silence. But, unfortunately, that didn't last long. "HEY HEY HEY!" Dani said, coming in with Natalie by her side. She may seem quiet at school, but when no ones around, Dani is just as crazy as the rest of us! I giggled and put my cello down before walking over to the girls. "Hey so did you guys hear we have to do an asignment with the science department today?" Natalie said, quietly, to Dani and I as people filed into the class. "Really? Like what kind of project?" I ask. "I don't know, something that combines science and music together. Its the boards way of trying to get the music department more popular." Natalie said sighing. "Hey! Maybe you'll get paired up with Seth and I'll get paired up with Riley!" I said, turning to Dani. Her face lit up and she looked down trying to hide the obvious blush on her face. We all laughed and then Megan told everyone to quiet down so she could talk. Since the girls and I already knew what she was saying we didn't pay much attention to her. Then they came in.

Riley's p.o.v.: "Hey Jen! Would you mind doing something for me?" I ask, walking up to my friend. "Yeah sure!" She said. "I need you to pretend to be my crazy ex girlfriend for the day. I'm gonna ask this girl, who's kinda my destiny, to be my pretend girlfriend for the day so you, my crazy ex, will back off. This way, I can flirt with her and I can maybe tell if she likes me or not." I said, hoping she would still want to do it. "Yeah sure! Sounds fun." She said smiling. "Great thanks!" I said, smiling. Soon, we were called into the music department.

Elizas p.o.v.: As soon as all the Science department people were in, our director started speaking again, this time telling us our partners. "Natalie and Jen, Ethan and Jay, Dani and Seth." I turned to Dani and winked at her. She blushed again but soon picked her head back up and went to go meet up with Seth. A few names later, I was called. "Eliza and Riley." I mentally cheered a little and went up to meet with Riley. "Hey!" He said smiling. "Hi!" I said. "Again, I am so unbelievably sorry about the other night." I added. "Haha its okay! I understand." He said. I laughed. "So, let's go sit and think if something?" I half said, half asked. "Sure! Lead the way." He said. I led him to a small table that was near the corner of my room and sat down. "So, I had this idea of creating a slime kind of substance and putting it on a speaker and then, hook a guitar up to the speaker and so when I strum the guitar, it'll make the slime bounce on the speaker." I said, smiling. "Sounds awesome." He said. "Hi Riley! Miss me?" This girl, of whom I recognize as Natalie's partner, Jen, said to Riley. "No, not at all actually." Riley said, sighing. "I'm sorry, am I missing something?" I say. "Eliza this is my ex girlfriend Jen." Riley said, gesturing towards the girl. I nodded. She continued to flirt up the wall with him, so me, being jealous, left to go get supplies. A few minutes later, Riley came up to me. "Hey, can you do something for me?" He asks me. "Mayybbbeee." I say, quirking an eyebrow. "I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend for the day so maybe Jen will back off." He says with a pleading look. A chance to be his girlfriend for a day? Yes please! "Sure. What all do I have to do?" I ask. "Just be flirty and hold my hand. You know, the girlfriend stuff." He said, laughing. "K. Sounds easy enough." I say, grabbing his hand. He smiled and walked off to our table, me beside him. I know this is all fake, but it felt nice, holding his hand and at least being his pretend girlfriend. We got back to the table and he helped me pour the right ingredients into the right vials to create the right substance. Once that was made, Riley tried his hand at guitar. And failed. Miserably. "Haha here let me help you!" I said, putting my arms around his and my head on his shoulder. I helped him play the chords we were using for the project. He laughed when he couldn't do it. "Maybe I should play the instrument. I am the one in the music department." I say laughing. He nodded and gave me the guitar. I looked down and started to strum, I looked up just in time to see Riley mouth the words 'Thank you' to Jen and her mouthing 'No problem' back. Hmmmm, so, this was all a trick to get close to me. Clever Riley. Verryyyyy clever.
