As soon as Kya saw the orphanage she turned to Melody and smiled sweetly.

"Well it was nice meeting you. I hope you enjoy being a mother." Kya gestured to Melody's belly and then giggled before running into the orphanage.

Melody laughed and placed a hand on her belly. That's when she began to think. Kya seemed like a really nice kid. She talked well with others and seemed very mature for such a young age. She seemed so positive and bubbly and Melody found her personality quite refreshing.

Kya needs a mother and Melody wanted to be that mother. She wanted Kya as her child so that she'd finally have someplace to call home.

Without thinking a moment longer, Melody walked into the orphanage.

Melody went up to the front desk cautiously and could see a lady filing her nails.

"Um, excuse me?" Melody called out kindly.

"Oh, can I help you?" The lady at the front desk asked.

"I'd like to adopt this little girl I just met. Her name is Kya. I'd like to give her a home." Melody smiled happily.

"You want to adopt...when you're already expecting?" The lady at the desk had a weird expression on her face.

"Well I know I can take care of her." Melody replied.

"Alright then, I'll call Ms. Larough." The lady picked up a black phone and dialed a number. A few seconds later a woman with a fake smile came into the room.

"Hello there! I'm Ms. Larough. I understand you'd like to adopt?" Ms. Larough glanced down at Melody with a really fake smile.

"Yes, I'd like to adopt Kya." Melody answered.

"Kya? Wouldn't you rather a better girl?" Ms. Larough's fake smile turned into a real frown.

"Kya is a wonderful girl and I'd love for her to be my daughter.." Melody replied calmly.

"Fine then, I'll get her. You need to sign paperwork." Ms. Larough gestured to the front desk and then left.

Melody grinned brightly and began looking over and signing the paperwork. Kya was going to be her daughter and she couldn't be happier.

Ms. Larough came back minutes later with Kya who had packed her backpack with her belongings. She looked very surprised to see Melody.

"You're adopting me?" Kya looked shocked but excited.

"Yes I am. I'd like to give you a home." Melody replied and set down the finished paperwork.

"She's all yours now." The lady at the front desk responded with no care in her voice. Melody held out her arms to Kya and gently hugged her.

"Come on, we should get going." Melody told Kya and held her hand. They exited the orphanage and Melody brought Kya to her car that was parked not too far away. Kya got in the backseat of the car and buckled up safely. Melody got in the drivers seat and carefully buckled herself in. She needed to be careful on her belly.

As soon as they were set, Melody drove off down the road. It would be a long drive back home.

"Where do you live?" Kya asked from the backseat.

"By the ocean. It's peaceful there." Melody replied with a small smile forming on her face. Kya's face lit up excitedly. She's never been to the ocean before. She's only heard about it.

"I think I'll like living with you...mom." Kya giggled when she called Melody her mom.
