After our most recent discussion, Kuvira went back to doing guard work. She'd be gone for days, sometimes weeks on missions. Working with Lin to keep the city safe. I often missed her those weeks when she'd leave and would have to find things to keep myself busy. Sometimes it was hard to do that, and I let the memories of the past come back to me. What had happened to Kuvira, was way worse than what happened to me. But I still didn't think I'd ever be fully alright. My mother was almost never around, and my father was dead. My father was Sokka, he died in the case with Yakone. He bled out, Katara was told to save him But she saved my mom instead. I don't blame her for that. Aang had worked some spiritual magic from the spirit world and made Katara a younger adult again, same with my mom. I got to learn a lot about why my mom left and why she never mentioned Lin and I's dad. She had a really dark past too, but I wasn't about to talk about that. My sister Lin got married to her girlfriend Kya. Lin loosened up so much after they got married. Lin was raped, and had a daughter named Lexy. She's a firebender, and man is she powerful. There was something you didn't know about the Beifong family. We all had ears. Like, real animal ears and tails. And we could shift at our will. My mom never shifted for obvious reasons, she was blind. I could shift though. I had the advantage of becoming a white and Grey snow leopard with bright blue eyes. I was also a vampire. So I was pretty powerful. Lin was a wolf, so was Lexy, Kya, and Katara. They all lived here at the estate, but they mostly did their own things. Sometimes Kya would come and mess around with me so that I didn't think about what had happened over the years. She came and sat by me now, as I had my head buried in my arms which were resting on my knees. I felt her hand on my shoulder and looked up through watery eyes to see her blue ones concerned and a frown on her face.
"She'll be back soon Suyin, don't worry."
I shook my head. "That's not what this Is about..."
Kya looked down, then back up.
"Is it about Bataar?" When I nodded, she kept talking. "There's....something I've never told anyone but Lin and my mom. When I came back from being a Gypsy, the reason I was so fragile and distant was because I was pregnant. My fiance and I were going to get married, but a bloodbender took my baby from me...she...twisted me from the inside out and took it". A tear rolls down Kya's cheek. "That's why I can't have children anymore, or why I always have bad stomach pains certain times of the year. Its my body thinking it's still pregnant and trying to save the baby". I looked up at Kya and frowned. She smiled a little. "That's how I met Lin though, and I Wouldn't give her up for anything." I nodded and she pulled me into a soft embrace, just holding me. Lin walked in sometime around there and sat with us, I felt her strong hand on my back, rubbing in a circle motion. I was surrounded by a loving family. Something that I've always had but it's always been just out of reach. All that was missing was Kuvira.
It was a couple more weeks before she even came home, and she looked dirty and exhausted. She had deep wounds, ones that Kya would need to tend to before she could sleep. We got her cleaned up and then I took her to bed. She slept on her stomach, her face turned towards me. Her cheeks were flushed lightly with color and her hair was a tangled mess. I sang to get quietly and saw her start to relax, so that she was sleeping more easily. She pulled me down beside her, wanting me to sleep too. So I cuddled a little closer and slept. Late in the night, she was whimpering in her sleep, her face a hot red color and she was burning up with a fever. I ran to get Kya and she followed me to Kuvira, covering her in a thin sheet of ice. Lexy came in and helped her sweat out the fever with fire. After they were done she was relaxed again, but I stayed awake in case she needed anything. I cared about her so much, if anything happened to her while I was asleep I'd never forgive myself. Knowing Kuvira She would probably make me forgive myself and tell me to quit moping over it. She hated it when I blamed myself for things that I couldn't help. I watched her sleep and sang to her again. A small smile was on her face as she listened, but I knew she was Still asleep. She probably would be for awhile, seeing as she never got to sleep on missions. They were to dangerous to be sleeping on. Every move you make counts. If you make the wrong one, the wrong people get killed. None of my people would be killed and I would see to that personally. I'd give my own life to save my city.
Kuvira slept for many days. She started looking a lot better, not so pale in the face. Her sleek tail was out, flicking every so often. She was a black panther, if I didn't already explain that. Sometimes that personality, her cat side would take over. It was funny, she'd act just like a real cat and tip things over, hiss at people. She never hurt anyone though, which was a good thing. I was stretched out on the bed, waiting for her to wake up anytime soon. I saw her stir and became hopeful as her eye opened and looked at me. Her lips curled into a smirk."Have you been here the 'whole' time?"
"Well....yes of course. I was worried about you."
She sat up and stretched, making a noise as she did.
"I need a shower. I'll be back."
She went to take a shower and get food. She came back about an hour later and sat on the bed in just a chest wrap and shorts.
"So, I'm guessing you didn't get any sleep?"
I shook my head yes. "I got some sleep, don't worry."
She looked at me suspiciously but edged closer and sat next to me. I looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
"Yes?"
She raised an eyebrow back. "I just wanted to sit by you."
I nodded and she laid her head on my shoulder, closing her eyes and relaxing.
"Would you like a massage?"
She opened her eyes and raised an eyebrow, but laid down on her back. I got up and sat on her hips, giving her a massage. She started to relax as I worked around her tense muscles. I stopped when she was looking at me.
"W-What?"
She motioned for me to lean down closer, so I did and she kissed me. It wasn't just a normal soft kiss either. It was deep and rough. She pulled me down closer so that I was pressed against her and my lips moved against hers like I couldn't get enough. I felt her tongue in my mouth and I pressed my tongue up against hers. When I broke away from her we were both panting and blushing darkly.
"What...was that..?"
She shrugged, looking at me.
"I missed you just a tiny bit."
"Yeah, a tiny bit."
I smirked and she snicked. I laid my head back against her chest and relaxed we she wrapped her arms around me. Her breathing was slow and calm as she stroked my hair and messed with my hands. I let them go limp so she could play with them. We laid there for hours, just happy with each others company and the rest of the world started to fade away, all my problems lost in Kuvira's dark jade green eyes. She understood me better than anyone, and that would never change. We would never change either, well I hoped anyways. If I lost her, then I'd be lost. She was the only thing really keeping me together. I just hope that she felt the same.
