Lunchtime came faster than I had expected. I was daydreaming during my English lesson, when I heard the bell signalling the end of morning periods, and the start of lunch time.

I sighed tiredly. I started to slowly pack my things into my black backpack. Then I fell forward when someone, budged past me, which lead to me bumping my hip against the desk. It  hurt.

"Ouch!" I yelled. The person who pushed me turned around at the sound of my voice. It was Brad, the school's most intelligent student and notorious bad boy. It is rumoured that Brad once hacked into the government system. Which I think it is a lie, but that is what gave him his bad boy reputation. And the fact that he just seems to not give a fuck about anything. He literally only talks to his friends, the teacher and ignores everyone else.   He's also one of Christian's friends.

Brad was probably the same height as me. He was obviously mixed with other races. He had dark skin with short curly hair. He was built just like his friends, but his body was much more slender. His lips were full and pouty and he had the most beautiful smile. He wore glasses but somehow that made him much more attractive.  All the girls wanted him, but he just did not pay them any attention. In fact, all the girls in this school wanted to have a piece of Christian and his friends. But they just keep to themselves. Just like his friends, Brad did not look 17... He looked older.

"I'm sorry Maria, I didn't see you there!"  said Brad while he had a cheeky smile planted on his face. Then he winked, turned around and walked away.

I stood there, speechless. Although I felt slight pain on my hip, I couldn't get over the fact that Christian and his friends seem to be too involved in my life today.

Wait... how does Brad know my name?

Lunch today didn't seem like it would be any different than any other day. But I was wrong.

I walked towards the lunch table that I sit at every day. It was in one of the corners of the lunch room. Where not many people go. I took my lunch out of my backpack. I decided to bring homemade chicken sandwich and a bottle of water.

Whilst I was eating my sandwich, I looked up towards a table in the other corner of the room. It was empty. That was where Christian Martelo and his friends usually sat.

I wonder what they want with me... I don't think they will hurt me. Yes, they are considered bad, but I don't like to judge people unless I know their full story. To be honest, I am curious to know more about Christian. I don't think I have a crush on him, but he just really intrigues me.

I was interrupted from my thoughts, when I noticed Christian and his group of friends walking towards their table. Christian was wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black skinny jeans and black trendy trainers. In fact all of them were wearing the same thing in black. Only Nicolai had on dark denim jeans. I could already see the females in the room, eyeing them up and blushing when one of them walks past them. And like always they acted like they were oblivious to it.

"Why don't they ever come to your parties Sara? Everyone loves your parties, it doesn't make sense." I heard Tara say to Sara, while they both walked towards their popular table and occasionally glanced towards towards Christian's table.

Sara was probably the richest girl in my school. Her father is a plastic surgeon, and her mum owned many clothing lines. Sara was not only known for her wealth, but she was also known for the amazing parties she throws. Tara was her best friend, I have never seen them separated.

It was true thought. It didn't make sense that they never attended any parties and never socialised with others other than their friends. Nothing about them made any sense.

When they sat down, I saw Mr Path heading in their direction.  Mr Path seemed agitated, like he was bursting to do something. He was speed walking to their direction, nearly tripping on his own feet. When he reached their table, he bent down to Christian's ear. Then he started to whisper something in Christian's ear. Christian then nodded and Mr. Path walked away. Weird.

I looked around and  no one in the lunch room seemed to have noticed this. Double weird.

I finished eating my sandwich, just when I was about to leave I look towards Christian's table. He was already looking at me. His green eyes seemed to be scrutinising me, never leaving my face. I again felt that weird feeling at the pit of my stomach. His eyes were void of emotion. How does he do that? Just hide his emotions from anyone, and never crack a smile.

I saw Nicolai turn around towards my direction on his seat. He motioned for me to come to him with his index finger. What the hell does he want?

I shook my head, there was no way I was going there. They already harassed me once. I wasn't going there in front of everybody.

I saw Christian narrow his eyes, when he saw me take a step back. I faltered. If I run away now, they could find me then hurt me. Something told me that there was much more to these guys than what meets the eye. They seemed to have more than  a dangerous streak. So I started to walk in their direction. All I could look at was Christian's grey eyes. He had me mesmerised.

"Hi Maria", said Brad when I reached their table. Brad moved to his left and motioned with his hands for me to sit down. I shook my head. " C'mon Maria, sit. We just wanted to talk. And I wanted to do is apologise in behalf of these two brutes for manhandling you before" he said, with a cheeky smile on his face.

"Are you serious?" I said. He couldn't be serious. "Do you think I'm a dickhead?" I said with a slight raise of tone to my voice. " I know you guys want something from me, and I do want to know why. But if you guys grab me, like the way you grabbed me before I will hurt you. Capiche?" I said. I was angry now, the way they treated me earlier was plain wrong.

Nicolai raised his eyebrow and then started laughing. I was fuming now. The cheeky smile still had not left Brad's face. Christian looked bored, as if I wasn't standing in front of him. I swear these guys are weird.

"Christian you were right. She sure is something." said Nicolai to Christian. " Im sorry Maria, I will be sure to never do that again." he said with a charming smile planted on his face.  Brad rolled his eyes at him.

I looked at Christian again, his gaze never left my face once. I started to feel my heartbeat going faster. " Don't forget to meet us after school, Maria" he said. Asshole. He didn't even apologise. I don't even know why Im expecting him to do so.

I shook my head at him and walked away to my next lesson. This has got to be the weirdest day ever, but something was telling me that things would get much more weirder.
