In a warm house with a happy family

she wrote a poem inspired by a friend called Brady Bramley

And she named it ''Autumn Leaves''

because they were hanging from the house's eaves

And her English teacher gave her an A

 along with very high praise

And her mother read it to the neighbors and to anyone who came

and proudly hung it on a wall inside a picture frame

And her father said that her grades were more than satisfactory

so he played card games with her and read her a bedtime story

And she became an older sister

to an adorable little boy that winter

And her friends gave her invitations to their parties'

as they shared their favorite candies

And her family got together to watch a movie called ''Mrs. Doubtfire''

And it made her laugh so hard that she thought her voice went higher

In a quiet library managed by a kind old lady

she wrote a poem as she lay in the arms of Brady

And she named it ''Happiness''

because moments with Brady were when she felt happiest

And her English teacher gave her a A

and told her to write better or else he'd give her a B

And her mother never read it to any neighbors and never hung it up at all

simply because her mother did not want the picture frame to damage the wall

And her father warned her about her dropping grades

and got angry when she wanted to play Spades

And the little brother that she loved very much

didn't like to play with her and called her a klutz

And her friends denounced her as their friend

so Brady hugged her tight and they ate skittles together instead

And her family never got together to watch any movies

since everyone else seemed to be more interested in blue cheese

In a chilly classroom with no one around

she wrote a poem dedicated to Brady, who was now buried beneath the ground

And she named it ''A Wish That'll Never Come True''

because to him, she never got the chance to say ''Thank You''

And her English teacher gave her an A and a long, steady look

and told her to focus more on reading the English textbook

And her mother never knew about it

because she flushed her poem down the toilet

And her father ignored every word she said

but payed attention to his son instead

And when she caught her brother hanging out with women and drinking wine

he said if she told their parents he would silence her with a piece of twine

And she sat alone at school under the leafy green trees

where her only friends were books and the light breeze

And her family didn't care when she said that Robin Williams had died

when she couldn't believe that someone who made her laugh so much was no longer alive

In a dark hallway where no person dare wander

she wrote a poem that Brady would never squander

And she named it ''Oblivion''

because that was exactly how she felt

And her English teacher gave her an F

because she never turned anything in

And her mother never spoke to her, one day after another

because her mother was constantly doting on her brother

And her father would look at her with disappointment and disgust

and he never knew how much it hurt her to be treated like dust

And her brother laughed at a picture of someone committing suicide at 4:48

and the words on the picture were ''Everyone cares when it's too late.''

And soon tears and emotions became knives and pens

and she forgot how to live and what it was like to have friends

And her family slept as she swallowed down cyanide at exactly 4:10

becoming the girl that will never write again
