Proof of Love (Poem)

''I wanted my eyes to reach you, the one who I love the most.''

So when you asked me where I fell in love with you, I laughed.

Since how I fell in love with you is the evidence of my constant love.

I've realized now that where I fell in love is unimportant,

Reminding you that I love you for who you are.

So I have to keep on being with you, while my brown eyes gaze up at the spring sky

''I wanted my laugh to reach you, the one who I love the most.''

So when you asked me why I loved you, I smiled.

Since what you didn't understand is that I need no reason why.

So I said that I loved you simply because I did,

Reminding you that I love you and you are my everything.

So I have to give you my everything, under the starry night sky

''I wanted my smile to reach you, the one who I love the most.''

So when you asked me what I loved about you, I spoke.

Since what you didn't get is that I loved you by choice.

And that despite your imperfections, I only wanted you,

Reminding you that being able to love you was your greatest gift to me.

So I have to keep on living in darkness for you, since your blue eyes cannot see the bluer sky

''I wanted the rest of your life to be proof of my love for you.''

So when you asked me how you were able to see again, I wrote this as a response.

Since you didn't know the depth of my love.

I simply took something blue of yours and gave you something brown of mine,

Which will remind you that my feelings will never change.

After all, you have my brown eyes that can see the blue sky
