"There was" She started listing off the names of the girls I had been with, not dating just been with "And Louise, Karen, Dallas and then the last one Abby. So who's your next victim?" I laughed at her remark. "I think it should be Holly." She said gazing into the light blue sky. The birds chirped and Ivy nearly joined in.
I laughed at her and blocked the sun with my arm. " I think you're right Sis I think you're right..." I trailed off. My sister loved this. She was a scheming like kid. She enjoyed a hunt.
"So Holly Wilburn, cute 16, cheerleader and curently single. Go get her tiger." She hopped up and ruffled my hair. I grabbed her hand and kissed it. "You're always my girl" I winked and she stuck her tongue out.
Ivy was in her room drawing a picture of a dove when I came into the house. She likes drawing, she's really good. "Hey thats really cool" I said." Wouldn't you think of entering any competitions?"
"Why? So people can gaze at things they only widh they could do. Pay unbelievable prices for picures that can be drawn again near to the exact. I think not." For 14 year old she sounded a lot like a 40 something yearold. "With my super powers I can read your mind" She said and pressed her fingers to her forhead. "You are dying to get laid and have wet drea...."
"Hey now cmon" I laughed at while she crossed her eyes. " I'm just sayin" I walked out of her room laughing, like I always did. "What would I do without you" I asked from the doorway. "We'll find out soon. She smiled. I was used to this line, it was her favourite, It didn't bother me as much anymore, I was ready. "See you later Ivy" I smiled and went downstairs.
"Hey, Jamie could you run to the pharmacy and get some aspirin. I think my head will explode soon." Mom asked in a hushed voice. Ivy had been screaming all night for the past week from the pain. My mom was on the verge of sending her to the hospital for a few nights, she needs a break.
"Mom Ivy will understand I'll explain to her s..." She cut me off.
"Ivy wants to be at home, so she will be at home." I could hear the sleepiness in her voice.
"Mom either she goes for a a few weeks or you do!" I nearly shouted. "Its not healthy for you, you need sleep. Look go to Aunt Jaynes for 3 weeks, you can visit every second day and if there is a problem Wilis lives across the street." She looked around hesitantly. She knew it was wrong to leave but if she didn't she was the one going to be in hospital.Wilis was Ivys nurse she was always at the house taking care of her when me or mom couldn't.
"Jamie you cannot leave a 17 yearold to look after a 14 yearold who has Terminal Cancer. its not smart." She was shaking her head.
"Mom Wilis can stay here with us, she has done it before." I knew I was swaying her. She looked ready to leg it out the door to RosaVille to Jaynes.
"Go pack a bag. I'll talk to Ivy" She stared dumbstruck for a few moments then ran up the stairs to pack. "ivy" I called. " Its okay I heard.
" She swung out from her room. "This is going to be so fun" I shook my head at her. She still amazes me.
"Alright you know all the numbers you need" Mum said as she rushed out the door and Wilis walked in.
"Hey kids. Hungry?" She was the best I hope she takes care of Ivy while I am at school.
