Chapter 7 - Us

Both their hearts are pounding with the same rhythm.

Xian, afraid of how Kim will take the truth. Numbed. Fearful but expectant.

Kim, lurking for what she have missed all these years, trying to remember everything. Curious. Afraid but excited.

The pavilion is very quiet, all guests turned out to be like Kim looking for answers, trying to unveil what they have been missing.

The video continued to roll. The screen shows young Kim and young Xian planting lilies. Everyone witnessed how they lovingly look at each other. The caption in the video says, "this is the very day." Then young Xian handed Kim different colors of tulips, her eyes can't hide her delight. The last one young Xian gave her is red, then he started his speech.

"The day I met you changed everything in my life, I thank Bestfriend for that. But the words to tell you how much you mean to me are not invented yet. You're a princess, you deserve a prince. I may not be of royal blood and may look like a scavenger the day you met me, but I can promise to be a prince for you - to protect, to love, and to cherish you forever. I love you my Princess."

Young Kim was stunned but beaming as bright as the sun. She held young Xian's hands and said, "I may be just an ordinary girl who can't sweep you of your feet, but with you I always feel that I am a Princess though I don't deserve. We may not be of royal bloods, but even if my blood turns blue, yellow, or transparent... I will never stop loving you."

Young Xian wrapped around his arms to young Kim and keeps saying "I love you, I love you babe" on her ears. They are both in tears but obviously happy. "I love you too", Kim replied.

"We're official. Kim at 14, Alex at 15", the caption says.

Everybody, including Xian, turned their gaze into the watching Kim. She's crying but cracking big smiles, she looks happy of what she's discovering right now.

There are a lot of scenes that the young lovers are sharing in the video, eating at the park on a picnic, morning jogs, band rehearsals, Kim sleeping and Xian sneaking into her room to put tulips beside her bed while stealing a quick kiss on the lips, Xian working on a fast food chain and Kim dropping by bringing him home made lunch, Kim's first day working at Walmart and Xian eyeing everyone checking on his babe, Xian playing basketball with Kim cheerleading, Xian in the hospital while Kim taking care of him, Xian going to college and Kim giving her the power hug, and many more.

One of the most memorable scenes is when they are watching a baseball game sitting on the bleachers when their faces where caught by the big video screen - "kiss/smooch lovers in the audience". The rule is whenever you're caught in that screen, you have to kiss. The audience are yelling and cheering: "kiss, kiss, kiss!" Xian turned to Kim asking permission, when she nodded in agreement, he kissed her with quick but meaningful kiss on the lips.

Then another scene started with the caption "The Promise, the day before Kim left - few months before she turns 16". Their young faces are now more of resembling how they look these days. Kim - watching the video, almost jumped off her seat noticing that it really is her and the young man is Xian.

The video shows they were on the same garden, the lilies of different colors we're covering the ground. The camera focused on the shallow hole at the center of the garden then it showed Kim talking to the camera, she's the one holding it.

"Today, spring of 2010, I'm making my babe, Alex, sappy and emotional.", then she giggled. "I'll be leaving for Manila tomorrow so Babe and I decided," she lowered down her voice making sure that Xian sitting beside her will not hear her saying: "though it took drums of sweetness before I was able to convince him", then go back to the right volume, "to write a promise of love. Isn't it sweet Babe?" She poked Xian on the side making him giggle then he gets given by kissing Kim all over her cheeks.
