Abeer listened to his father attentively, carefully noting every word he said. When Rudra finished expressing his concerns, Abeer nodded and responded calmly.
“Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll speak to Karan first and clarify everything about this investment idea.”
Rudra gave a thoughtful nod. “Alright. Just make sure he understands that if he is investing in Adira’s project, he must maintain a clear boundary between personal and professional matters. If, by any chance, this alliance doesn’t work out the way we hope, I don’t want Adira’s business to suffer because of any emotional complications.”
“I completely understand, Dad,” Abeer assured him. “But as we all know, Adira’s project doesn’t require a massive investment. It's something we can easily manage ourselves. It's only because Mithu is refusing our help that we're entertaining this route. Still, if Karan backs out at the last moment, we’re more than capable of handling the project on our own. The financial requirement is minimal.”
Rudra exhaled deeply, still looking somewhat concerned. “That’s true, but even so, I want you to have a direct conversation with Karan. Clarify everything before moving forward.”
“I will, Dad. You have my word.”

That afternoon, Karan was in his hotel room, packing his bags. An urgent matter had come up at his Mumbai office, requiring his immediate presence. Although his heart longed to stay in Shimla, close to Adira, he couldn’t ignore the responsibilities he had painstakingly built over the years. His business needed him.
As he folded his clothes and organized his things, his phone rang. It was Abeer. He answered the call with a smile.
“ Hello mr shekhawat “
“I’m good, Karan. Hope I’m not disturbing you.”
“Not at all,” Karan replied. “Go ahead.”
Abeer wasted no time and came straight to the point. “I heard you’ve shown interest in investing in Adira’s project. That’s a great gesture, and it’s reassuring to have someone experienced like you on board. But before we go ahead, I want to discuss a few important things with you.”
Karan stopped packing and focused entirely on the conversation.
“Of course,” he said earnestly. “Please go ahead. I’m happy to address any concerns you have.”
Abeer began listing his concerns mostly centered on ensuring that personal and professional boundaries remained clear. He was polite but firm, wanting to ensure Adira's project wouldn’t be jeopardized if things didn’t progress as hoped on the personal front.
Karan listened quietly, giving his full attention. When Abeer finished, Karan replied with calm confidence.
“I completely understand your concerns, Abeer. In fact, I really appreciate you being open about them. It shows how much you care for Adira and her work. Let me be very clear my interest in this project is purely professional. I genuinely believe in Adira’s vision and the potential of this venture. I see it as a sound business opportunity, nothing more. My decision to invest has nothing to do with my personal feelings. I’ve always kept business and personal matters separate, and this time is no different.”
Abeer let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good to hear, Karan. Thanks for being so upfront.”
After exchanging a few more words and sharing a light-hearted moment, the call ended.

Later that evening, Karan arrived at the Shekhawat Mansion to bid farewell. The family members were surprised to see him so suddenly.
