CHAPTER THREE

Chloe's POV:

When I woke up it was to the smell of bacon. Connor was cooking but still looked half asleep.

"Imma go get ready for school." I say

Connor just grunts.

We eat and drive to school.

The day was normal nothing exciting happened until I got home.

"MOM IM HOME"

no answer

"Mom? you here?"

"in here sweet heart!" I hear from her room. I run upstairs to find her crying on her bed.

"mom? what's wrong?"

"your dad. he was killed in a fire at his apartment complex." she says sobbing.

I tear up them burst into tears.

we sit on her bed crying then I eventually sniffle and tell her goodnight.

I shuffle to my room wiping my tears.

I fall asleep and try to dream of happy memories with my dad.

Chloe's POV:

I'm now 22 and living with my best friend, Bella. My YouTube channel has grown and has reached 1,000,000 already. Connor and I still hang out but since I went to collage I met new friend. I was only in college for 2 years and dropped out to grow my YouTube career. I do main channel videos every Sunday and Thursday and try to film daily vlogs everyday.
I try to call Connor often but he's always busy and so am I.

present day
Connor's POV:

I glance down at my phone and see that it says 'Joe' for the caller ID.

"Hello?" I answer

"Hey mate! are you going to be busy on the 19th?" he says in a cheerful voice.

I glance at a calendar on my wall, about 2 weeks from now.

"um, I don't think so. why?" I question.

"well I've been getting lots of requests to do a collab with you. I know it's quite random but why not?"

I think about it for a minute and instantly remember Chloe always wanted to meet Joe.

"I can but can I bring someone with me?"

"Of course! who might that be?"

"I'm going to leave that a surprise. I'll call you later to tell you if... this person... can come or not."

"no problem! bye!"

I hang up and instantly scroll through my contacts and fine Chloe. I have her under 'Chloe Sugg‼️' because the last time I saw her she changed it to that when she was pretending that she meet Joe. I remember her picking up her phone and pressing it to her ear like Joe was calling. I did give her his number but she was to shy to even think about texting him.

I press the little phone emblem and the phone starts to ring as I wait.

"Hey Connor!" I hear on the other side of the phone.

"hi! will you be free in 2 weeks?"

"well," I hear her flipping through her mini calendar I got her for her birthday, "yeah! why?"

"I have a surprise!" she squeals "you know you said you wanted to meet Joe?"

"I STILL DO! GET ON WITH IT" she yells through the phone with excitement.

"He has asked me to do a collab with him. I asked if I could bring an extra person. He said yes and I'll be leaving in 2 weeks," heavy panting "would you mind coming with me?"

"YEESSS! MORE THAN ANYTHING! THANK YOU CONNOR!"

"No problem! see you in 2 weeks!"

" I can visit this weekend. but... can I stay with you?" she says in a guilty manner.

"course! I'll call you later then! bye!"

"bye! can't wai-" and I hang up cutting her off on accident.

I scroll through the contact list once again finding Joe. His contact is just under 'Joe' because Chloe was going to change it to something but fell asleep thinking of what to type.

I tap the speech bubble and start typing.

'I'll definitely be bringing this person with me! they're really excited to meet you!' I send it and see the speech bubble showing me he is typing about 3 seconds after.

'okay! can't wait! who is it?'

'still want it to be a surprise since you might judge her from stuff you have heard.'

'SHE! it's a girl!'

'she is, that's all I will say. no more hints'

We texting but all it is is him asking who and is.

'Is it that girl, Chloe? I've seen her in your videos a lot.'

' nope!' I lie. 'I have to go! see you in a couple weeks!' I get to overwhelmed that he has guessed it and has to take a nap. I didn't even stay awake to see his response.
