.
As I stepped outside, my manager, KK, caught up to me. and handed me my phone "Come on, Jiyoo. Everyone's going out to eat-let's go with the team."
I shook my head. "I'm waiting for Jaekyung. He's on his way."
She gave me that look again-the one that wasn't just disbelief, but a silent signal, and my simple nod was my way of assuring her I was on it.
"make sure to eat, okay" she said. patting me on my back. i just smiled and Without another word, I walked past her, making my way to the parking lot.
I stood there, phone in hand, waiting. Then a car honked right in front of me. That was my sign. Jaekyung was here. I got in without hesitation. The door closed behind me with a soft click. He glanced over, his eyes calm but he looked at me strangely-more specifically, at my lips. They were swollen from all the kissing earlier. I caught his gaze and felt a flush rise to my cheeks.
Gathering my strength, I asked him, "Have you eaten yet?" trying to lighten up the mood. I watched him closely, waiting for his answer. He just hummed in response. Disappointment gushed at me; well i haven't! I leaned back again, trying to ignore the hunger as I felt the car start to move.
The car ride was quiet-oddly relaxing. I was tired, and dozing off felt easy. But then, suddenly, i felt the car stopped. I leaned forward and looked outside. We were in front of a fast-food place. The restaurant had glass walls, and through them, I could see just a few people eating. It was already 1 in the morning. I looked at Jaekyung, giving him a questioning look. He had said earlier that he already ate, so I was curious why we had stopped here.
He caught my gaze and shrugged slightly, a small smile tugging at his lips. "I'm actually hungry," he said quietly. "Been craving a burger all day." I nodded, understanding the feeling more than I wanted to admit. Without another word, we stepped out of the car and made our way inside the restaurant. the faint smell of fries welcomed us; I cant help but drool.
The waitress leaned slightly forward, flashing a practiced smile. "What would you like to order?" she asked, her eyes clearly trying to charm Jaekyung. I tilted my head to the side, looking directly at her. It was obvious she was aiming to impress him, but I stayed quiet. he didn't even bother to hide his disinterest.
When the waitress tried to charm him, he just glanced her way with a bored expression and said flatly, "Cheeseburger and fries." I watched him, surprised by how blunt he was, ignoring her completely. The waitress blinked, clearly thrown off,
then turned to me. "So, what about you?" she asked, her smile fading a little. "Just a salad... and some fries too." I said, a little sharply. Jaekyung shot me a quick look, a little smirk playing on his lips, but didn't say anything. I could feel the tension between us, but I kept quiet.
I munched on my salad and said, "You know, when I'm with you, people suddenly don't recognize me."Jaekyung looked at me strangely, one brow raised as he took a bite of his burger.I continued, "Guys and girls always circle around you." He chewed slowly, his eyes never leaving mine.
He swallowed his bite and leaned back, a smug smirk playing on his lips-that damn smile that always got under my skin. "Why, are you jealous?" he asked, cocky as ever. I smiled, playing with fire. "So what if I am? What are you gonna do... kiss me to make it up to me?" I joked, giggling as I took another bite.
His eyes darkened with mischief. He leaned in slightly and said, "Nope... but your other lips, yes" I was completely flabbergasted. The words hit me like a punch, and I suddenly choked on my food, coughing as surprise I can feel the heat going to my face and embarrassment flooded through me. Quickly, I grabbed a water and took a long drink, steadying myself.
