Miranda
"Riker?" I turned the corner to his bedroom to see him hunched in his bed with a pouty face, staring at his phone. I couldn't help but giggle. "What's the matter, grumpy pants? Got your panties in a bunch?" He rolled his eyes. "The last thing I need right now is you making fun of me for being a tight ass." "Hey.." I sat down beside him on the bed and he sat up. "Rike, did it hurt that bad?" He scoffed. "Well, yeah! I mean, do you realize how awful that was to say?" I could see in his eyes he was hurt. He had those little puppy eyes that a five year old uses on their mommy when they want candy, except Riker didn't want any candy. "Yeah, Rike, I do. And I'm sorry they said that. But hey, who cares? It's not even that embarrassing." "Yes it is, Miranda! I'm a twenty three year old virgin!" I stared down at the bed, then at Riker, then at the bed, then at Riker again. "Look, Riker, that's not even that big of a deal. If it helps, I'm ... a virgin too." He smiled. "Really?" He asked. I nodded. "Come on, how are you a virgin..?" I blushed. "Yeah, and I was pretty much the only virgin in high school, too. Always bullied for it." Riker laughed. "I guess we have something in common, then."
~
My eyes fluttered open. Wait... I fell asleep? I found myself on the couch in the living room. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. When I opened them, I was greeted by two big brown eyes so close to mine I couldn't see anything else. "Ahh!" Thunk. I fell off the couch and onto the floor.
~
"Ugh, Ryland!" He proceeded to laugh so hard he fell onto the couch. "What the hell?" I stood up and sat back down on the couch. "Ha, sorry. You feeling any better?" He asked. "Huh?" "You passed out. Remember?" I passed out? When? The last thing I remember was talking about Riker's virginity. "You blacked out while you were watching the guys rehearse. You don't remember?" I shook my head. "No. But I do feel like hell."
~
I heard a door close and looked over to see the others walking towards me with water bottles in their hands looking all sweaty. "Hey, you're awake." Said Ross. "Do you feel okay? You took a pretty nasty fall out there." Rocky asked after taking a drink of water. "My head hurts, but other than that, I'm fine." "Come on, Miranda. We should get you in bed." Rydel offered me her hand. When I tried to stand up, my legs gave out and I fell back onto the sofa, causing everyone to jump. "I think we should her to the doctor instead. Rocky, take my car." Riker said.
~
The doctor did a series of tests on me, all of which made me uncomfortable. When he left, everyone else came into the room so they could hear the results. "Do you have any idea what it could be?" I shook my head. At the same time, the doctor entered the room.
~
"We have good news and bad news." He started. "Good news is you don't have any sort of disease. Bad news is it was caused by low blood sugar." "What?" Rydel said. "How?" Riker questioned. "Do you have diabetes, Miranda?" I shook my head. "Then it was most likely caused by lack of eating." Of course, this confused everyone. "How? We had that huge breakfast today-" "Miranda, when was the last time you ate?" I thought for a minute. Oh shit. "The last time I ate was when I had breakfast." "Yeah, see? That can't be the cause." Ryland interrupted. "Yesterday."
~
"What?" The doctor asked. "The last time I ate was when I had breakfast yesterday." Everyone's eyes widened as they exchanged perplexed glances. "Miranda-" "You say the last time you are was yesterday at, say, 11:00?" The doctor questioned. I nodded. He sighed. "Okay. Be sure you're eating more. When you get home, eat a healthy meal with all the food groups." "Doctor, I'm not hungry." "You need to eat, Miranda. You can't starve yourself. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have another patient to get to."
~
Back at home, no one-and I mean no one-would stop trying to get me to eat something. It was all, 'Miranda, eat this!' 'Miranda, you're gonna faint again!' 'Miranda Miranda Miranda!' God, I could just smash their heads into a drawer! "Okay, you know what guys? I appreciate the help, but honestly, you're not helping! I will eat on my own!" I'm out of breath after my outburst. Everyone stands there dumbfounded. "Sorry. Just, please, leave me alone?" They nod and shuffle out of the room one by one, turning their attention to the hockey game on TV. I stand up and walk to the fridge, getting out strawberries, ham, cheese, and milk.
~
After I ate, I sat down in between Rocky and Ross on the couch. "What's happening?" I asked. "2-4. Game's barely starting." Rocky answered. After our score went up three points, Ross put his arm around my shoulder. I leaned my head on his chest.
~
Soon, it was dark outside and Rocky was snoring next to me. Everyone had fallen asleep except me, including Ross, so I decided I'd fall asleep right here. I turned off the TV and closed my eyes.
~
Riker

My eyes fluttered open and I realized I'd accidentally fallen asleep. I looked around to see that everyone was sleeping, even Miranda. On Ross. I'll admit, this hurt. And I didn't even know why it hurt to see her sleeping on Ross.
~
But on my way back to my room I realized why it hurt so bad.

I liked Miranda.
