** A young woman sees a walking dead in the open streets of Whitby. A train full of corpses crashes into Kings Cross. In an Asylum, a gruesome nightmare becomes horrible reality.
All this should have been a warning to Kyle and his partner Benjamin...

Kaylee wondered if Dr. Archer would heroically pull the young woman into his arms and comfort her. Unconsciously, she pursed her lips, lowered the newspaper, and raised first her eyebrows and then her chin.
"You surely know most of the common fairy tales. About werewolves that eat people in the woods, ghosts that haunt abandoned buildings, or fairies that kidnap Christian children? All these myths have a grain of truth. However, the truth is darker and more cruel than you could ever imagine in your worst nightmares." Kaylee enjoyed the moment of sheer horror on the young woman's face. She could literally see reality shattering the veil of gullibility and lies.
Yes, people didn't want to see these things. They lived well in their tiny, limited world, where they didn't have to look beyond the edge of their noses, behind which – admittedly – horrible things lurked.
Dr. Archer quickly raised his hands as if to stop Kaylee from saying something wrong.
"But such creatures or apparitions are very rare. Most occurrences can be explained logically. However, superstition and fear fuel all kinds of horror stories.
It's our job to find out what might be true behind these events—and to make sure that people don't find out about them, for their own good. Anyway... There's much more to life than just these terrifying creatures," said Dr. Archer, sounding almost agitated.
"For example?" asked Millicent, her voice a notch too high to sound calm.
"Well, there are also good forces and positive powers. These creatures are real, both good and bad. We call miracles blessings. Great healers or heroes sometimes possessed such abilities or were not even truly human themselves. It's difficult to explain," said Dr. Archer, looking as awkward as Kaylee would have looked if asked to give a medical diagnosis.
"And you are such a person? Does that mean... I'm one too? Someone with such abilities?" Millicent blurted out. "Is that why those things were chasing me? And that man?"
Dr. Archer glanced at Kaylee again.
But she made no move to intervene. "Oh, now you want my attention after all? You've managed so well on your own so far," Kaylee thought a little bitterly. The reason for this was simple, and Kaylee was not proud of it. However, she did not have the self-awareness to admit this to herself.
She was hurt.
Immediately after the incident, Dr. Archer had first taken care of the young woman, and since then, his entire attention had been focused on her. He had asked what felt like a thousand times if Miss Clarence was okay, if she was exhausted, and if she could keep walking. If her feet hurt. He had assured her that they would be safe soon and that the young thing didn't need to worry. At the station, he had immediately sought out another gentleman's coat to put around the lady so she wouldn't get cold. It was... touching. And terribly annoying.
"To be honest, we don't yet know why these creatures are after you. But it undoubtedly has something to do with the gentleman, so we'll continue to follow that lead," Dr. Archer explained.
