"The train crashed into Kings Cross station at full speed and without braking," Kaylee said on the way to the hospital as they ran through the busy streets of London. "There are countless injured and dead."

Now the chaos with the trains made sense, as did the fact that it had been so complicated to find a cab even at this late hour. There were countless injured people. Several pillars of the station had been knocked down by the train, causing part of the station to collapse, burying more people.

Dr. Archer hummed thoughtfully.

"It's not unusual for people to be injured and killed in an accident of this magnitude. What is the reason for deploying the Seekers on such a large scale?" he asked, sounding noticeably unmotivated, rubbing his fingers over the bridge of his nose.

They were tired, the day had exhausted them, and the aftermath of the fight was still gnawing at Kaylee and him – although he was far more concerned about the Seeker than himself. Ben had fought numerous battles and was in better physical condition than the wizard. No wonder, he had been a soldier for some time.

Benjamin paused at this thought, cleared his throat, and thought about his argument with Kaylee about underestimating women. Anyway... He had planned to treat the other Seeker thoroughly at headquarters, but now they were already on the road again. And he didn't like that one bit. It made him feel uneasy and queasy with worry.

"What's so unusual about this accident?"

The presumed Mr. Crowford raised an eyebrow, almost as if Dr. Archer had said something stupid.

"Well, what causes a train to drive into a station without brakes?" Kaylee asked, as if throwing him breadcrumbs so he could find the right path in the dark forest.

At these words, Benjamin's brows knitted together in a thoughtful expression, and his green eyes darkened slightly, as if a grim foreboding had cast a grey veil over them.

"So you're saying it wasn't just a simple accident." This was a statement, not a question.

Kaylee nodded, and for a moment it looked as if she wanted to applaud because he had picked up the thread. Her blue eyes flashed with that dangerous curiosity that had often got her into trouble. Benjamin wondered where Kaylee found the strength to face the next problem after everything she had been through in the last few hours. Where did this woman get all this energy?

Kaylee, on the other hand, was actually quite happy about the welcome distraction. The whispering in her mind was constant, which should have been a warning sign of her exhaustion.

"It's not the accident that brought the seekers here, it's the train's passengers," Kaylee began to explain, and Benjamin heard the tension in her voice. But the doctor still couldn't interpret it. Was it excitement? Nervousness? Or was it a bizarre joy because something supernatural seemed to be taking its course?
