The morning light filtered softly through the high windows of the bunker, casting long shadows across the stone floor. The air was still, heavy with the weight of everything that had happened.
Charity lay in her bed, her face pale but peaceful. Her chest rose and fell slowly, each breath a quiet victory. Bandages wrapped her arms, and a faint golden glow from Reagan's protective sigils shimmered above her.
Sam stood at the foot of the bed, arms crossed, eyes tired but watchful. Dean leaned against the wall, sipping coffee, his jaw clenched in silent worry. Reagan and Remus stood nearby, their auras dimmed, their expressions solemn.
"She's stable," Reagan said softly. "But she needs time."
"She's strong," Remus added. "She'll come back."
Castiel sat in a chair facing the bed, unmoving, his eyes locked on his daughter. With a tight grip on her hand, after a long silence, he turned to the others.
"Could I have a moment alone with her?"
Everyone nodded and quietly filed out of the room, leaving Castiel in the stillness.
He sat down beside her, gently taking her hand in his. His fingers trembled.
"I failed you," he whispered. "I should've seen through Jaamarie. I should've protected you."
He leaned forward, brushing a strand of hair from her forehead. His voice cracked.
"You trusted me... and I let you walk into danger. I let them hurt you."
Tears welled in his eyes and fell freely as he pulled her into his arms, holding her close, as if shielding her from the world could undo the pain.
"I'm so sorry, Charity," he whispered.
He held her there, rocking gently, his wings flickering faintly behind him. The silence was filled only by the sound of his quiet sobs and the steady rhythm of her breathing.
"I love you," he said. "And I swear... I will never let anything happen to you again."
Sam, Dean, Reagan, and Remus stood in the hall outside Charity's room.
Dean
"You two really came through for us. We owe you."
Sam
"Seriously. If you hadn't caught Charity when you did..."
Reagan
(smiling warmly)
"You don't owe us anything. Charity is our soul. Protecting her is our purpose."
Remus
"And besides, we kind of like you guys. For humans."
Dean chuckled. "That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all week."
Sam
"So... what happens now? You sticking around?"
Reagan
"We'll stay in these vessels. They were drawn to us during the graveyard case for a reason. They're strong, and they fit."
Remus
"We'll return to our realms soon. Reagan rules the Sun World—it's the highest realm in our universe. A place of light, clarity, and creation."
Reagan
"And Remus governs the Dark Moon World. It lies beneath our universe, a realm of shadow, reflection, and balance. Together, we keep the cosmic order."
