The Impala pulled up to the front of a modest but welcoming high school nestled in a quiet town. The morning sun cast a golden glow over the parking lot as students filed in, buzzing with the energy of a new school year.
Charity sat in the back seat, her backpack on her lap, her fingers nervously fidgeting with the zipper. Castiel sat beside her, while Sam and Dean stood outside, leaning against the car.
"You ready for this?" Dean asked, flashing a grin.
Charity took a deep breath. "As ready as I'll ever be."
Sam opened the door for her. "You've been through more than most people ever will. This? You've got it."
Castiel stepped out and walked around to her, placing a hand gently on her shoulder. "You're strong, Charity. You always have been. And no matter where you are, I'll always be with you."
She smiled, eyes misty. "Thanks, Dad."
He pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly. "I'm proud of you. More than you'll ever know."
Dean stepped in next, ruffling her hair. "If anyone gives you trouble, just say your uncles are federal agents. That usually works."
Charity laughed. "I'll keep that in my back pocket."
She hugged Sam last, who handed her a small notebook. "For your thoughts. Or spells. Or both."
With one last look at her family, Charity turned and walked toward the school entrance. Her heart pounded, but it wasn't fear—it was excitement.
As she stepped through the doors, she scanned the hallway—and froze.
Standing near the lockers were two very familiar faces.
Reagan, dressed in a bright yellow hoodie and jeans, was enthusiastically decorating her locker with glittery sun stickers. Remus, in a black jacket and headphones, leaned against the wall looking thoroughly unimpressed.
Charity blinked. "What... are you two doing here?"
Reagan beamed. "We're undercover! High school edition."
Remus sighed. "Apparently, I'm the brooding transfer student. Again."
Charity laughed, shaking her head. "You guys are unbelievable."
Reagan winked. "We promised we'd keep an eye on you. Besides, someone has to make sure you don't blow up the chemistry lab."
Remus added dryly, "Or accidentally summon a demon during gym class."
Charity rolled her eyes, grinning. "It's gonna be a weird year."
Reagan linked arms with her. "The best kind."
Together, the three of them walked down the hallway, ready to face whatever came next—sunlight, shadows, and all.
