Chapter 17

"Where are we going?" Rose asked as Owen covered her eyes and began to take her somewhere. Owen stopped but made sure Rose couldn't see anything.
"Hello," Zach announced. Owen let Rose see. She ran to Zach as fast as she could. She hugged him.
"Ow," Zach said as she hugged him.
"Sorry," she said. He kissed her. Owen left the two alone and walked around the hospital. When Owen came back a few hours later he found Rose lying on the bed cuddled with Zach,both of them were asleep. He smiled.

After a few weeks Zach was discharged from the hospital. Rose was happy. Everyone was in a happy mood until Owen got a phone call. He walked outside and answered it.
"Is this Owen Grady?" A woman's voice asked.
"Yes," Owen replied.
"I'm sorry to tell you this but your uncle, Eric Grady, had a heart attack. He didn't make it," the woman explained. Owen paused for a moment.
"Oh,thank you for telling me,"he hung up. He knew that was Roses favorite uncle,how would he tell her? He walked into the room and both of them stared at him. Rose watched as her brother entered and noticed he looked slightly sad.
"Who died?" Rose looked him in the eye.
"Rose...," Owen started.
"That's the same face the officer had when he told us about mum and dad. Who?"she spoke up.
"Uncle Eric," Owen said. Rose kept her sadness in.
"Okay,when's the funeral?" She tried not to cry.
"Next week," Owen stared at her. Rose nodded. Zach held her hand.

The next week they flew to Massachusetts. Rose put her black dress and heels on and went to the funeral with Zach and Owen. Rose left after the coffin was put in the ground. Zach and Owen followed her .  She walked to her uncles old farm. She picked up one of the baby lambs and held her. She walked around looking at the animals she would to play with years ago. She stroked one of the oldest horses.. The horse nuzzled her.
"I know I miss him too," she patted the animal.
