Chapter 2

Caroline's POV

" Whoa, put a cap on those lungs girl." I heard, and my voice died down.

A smile lit up my face, and I threw my arms around her, squeezing her just barely tight enough not to hurt her. "Oh My Gosh, Aunt Cara!" I yelled softer.

I could here my family bounding up the stairs, and Dad burst into my room, his eyes ablaze with anger and alertness. When he sensed that no danger threatened me or Emily, he noticed Cara in the room. His tense stance loosened, and he shot up from his crouched position. His eyes, which had been almost black, were now back to their hazel color. His wolf retreated from the surface.

Mom, who had been standing behind Dad's right shoulder, nudged past and embraced her sister. Emily also removed herself from the protection of Dad's body, and waited her turn to hug Aunt Cara. My heart had finally settled to its natural rhythm.

Mom pulled back, giving Aunt Cara her best grin. "What are you doing here, sis?" She asked walking out of my room, all of us following behind.

"I decided I would ride with you to the pack house to meet with Alpha Dominic. I could show you the way, and you will have someone you know there with you."

We reached the bottom of the stairs, and we turned left down the hallway and into the kitchen. It was a grande, yet simple kitchen.

The floor consists of dark grey tile. The cabinets and drawers that line the wall are white. We have the stove, a double sink, a dishwasher, a microwave, a toaster, and a blender. In the middle of the kitchen is a bar, with three stools. The countertops are a light granite, which matched well with the beige wall. Farther into the kitchen is a tan-colored dining table.

We all took a seat at the table, exept for Emily, who sits on the floor playing with one of her dolls. I'm finally over the shock of who was here, and I started to listen at what our plan was for the day.

"So, Alpha Dominic is excpecting you at about one thirty," She glances at her watch. " so that means we should leave in about half an hour. Right now it's twelve thirty." Mother nods, looking at Dad for approval. It was a habbit that she had one day told me she couldn't help.

It was a mates natural instinct to please their other half. I guess that was a thing Mother did well, and Dad really appreciated it.Dad really appreciated it.

They talked for the next thirty minutes, but I was zoned out, pondering over what was still to come. I wasn't as nervous as I was earlier, now that Aunt cara would be here, but the butterflys weren't completely stopped.

"We should go now." Dad's voice pushed through my thoughts. Mother bobbed her head, and we all headed out to the car. Finally, we would be welcomed into the pack.
