Chapter 4: Caroline's POV

A/N- I'm sorry, it has been a long time. I promise I will update more often. I've been very busy at school and with club volleyball.

Chapter 4

Caroline's POV

The first thing that struck me about Alpha Dominic was his uncanny resemblance to my previous alpha. Like Alpha Charles, he was fairly tall, and was built like an ox. He looked slightly older than Charles, but still healthy and strong. He wore a tight muscle shirt, one uncovered arm sporting a small tattoo of a wolf and moon.

He seemed tougher on the outside, but through that, you could tell he was a nice person. My eyes traveled up to his face. His eyes were a dark brown, to match his tousled hair. His mouth was half upturned into a smile.

"I'm guessing your the family that came from my cousin's pack?" He asked, taking a seat behind the big desk. Cousin's? That makes a lot of sense. It would explain the similarities between the two Alpha's. He must have registered the shock on my face before I hid it. "He is my aunt's son. He is four years younger than me."

"And you arn't doing anything to help your cousin's pack, which as of now, is being attacked by rogues and whatnot?" I snapped. I instantly regretted my words. Way to get on the new Alpha's bad side.

No anger crossed his feature's, but his eyes shone with amusement. Nice to know he thought I was funny! Better than him thinking I am a no good werewolf trouble maker.

"Believe me, young one, I have tried." My wolf growled at his calling me young. "But, as most other Alpha's, Charles has his pride, and he is not about to lose it. He let his pack mates go because he didn't wan't his pride to get the rest of his pack killed." He shook his head sadly.

"At some point, he will have to leave. He wouldn't put Molly in danger like that. He may move here, he might start a pack somewhere else." Molly is Alpha Charles' mate.

"A man's pride is his greatest treasure, outside of his mate." My dad murmured, glancing lovingly at Mom. Dominic gave his mate the same look.

"Yes, well, we should get started. This won't take long, since I have already heard about you from Charles. You were the Beta, were you not?" He directed the question at Dad.

"I was, and I was willing to drop that position to keep my family safe."

Alpha Dominic looked thoughtful for a moment. He got a faraway look in his eyes, and I could tell he was communicating with someone from the pack. His face was serious, as he stopped chatting in his head and looked at my dad. "Well, you came at the right time. My beta, Nathan, is ready to step down from his role in this pack. He has no children to take his place, and he sees your arrival as an opportunity to retire. Would you be interested?"

"I would be honored to act as Beta. As you know, I have much experience, about eight years worth." Dad was beaming, gripping his seat tightly in excitement.

"You are all already a part of the pack. I have notified the higher ranking wolves, and word will spread fast. We will have to perform a ceremony for your right as Beta. We will schedule that for two days from now."

"Of course."

Luna Danielle scooted forward in her chair, making her presence known so she could speak. "Are your children going to the local schools?" Leave it up to the Luna to be worried about the children's education. I was already proud to call her MY Luna.

Mom answered. "Yes! Caroline is in her last year of high school, and Emily is in 6th grade." She seemed proud, knowing both of us were intelligent.

"That's great, when do they start?" Danielle asked.

"Caroline starts tomorrow, and Emily the beginning of next week." It was Thursday today, and they didn't think it was worth Emily going to school.

Luna Danielle nodded her head in approval, ready to wrap things up. During our talk, Casey had left the room, shutting the door.

Dad stood up, offering his hand to Alpha Dominic, while Mom hers to Luna Danielle. they exchanged farewells, and when I got up, Emily was out the door. We were officially part of the Dark Moon Pack!
