Chapter 3

Caroline's POV:

The ride to the pack house was only about ten minutes. Like usual, Emily was in the back with me and Aunt Cara. She was talking our heads off, and we all wanted to strangle her. The only person who had some sort of patience was Cara.

We had driven onto a dirt road about a minute ago, and through the trees you could see slivers of the pack house. It was huge, about the size of a small mansion. Cara had told us a lot about it. It had fifty bedrooms, a hug kitchen, a lounging area. They even had an indoor, and outdoor pool.

The thing I was most excited about though was that it had it's own library. I know, I'm pretty nerdy. But if ever I'm upset, angry, or just need to think, I love to settle down and read a good book. It helped clear my mind, giving me some more thinking space. And with a sister like Emily, I had to clear my head a lot.

We pulled up to the front door, where a woman who looked about late-thirties stood, waiting. As we got out of the car, she walked up, giving us all a welcoming smile. She looked at Aunt Cara with a knowing look.

"I'm guessing your the Summers family?" She asked, looking between the four of us. My Dad stepped forward, holding out his hand to her.

"We are. My name is Jack Summers. This is my wife, Sally." He motioned to Mom, who took the lady's outstretched hand. " And these are my two daughters, Emily and Caroline."

"It is very nice to meet you all. My name is Danielle, I am the Alpha's mate and wife. We have heard a lot about you from Cara. She speaks very highly of her family." She smiles, gesturing for us to follow her inside.

We walk through the door, into a large lounging room and kitchen. It almost reminds me of a hotel lobby, not including the check in counter. It felt almost homy, and I instantly relaxed. We kept walking, up to a door at the end.

"This is Dominic's pack office. Whenever someone needs to speak with him, they wait here for him to finish up business in his upstairs private office. He will be down shortly."

She opened the door, and we stepped into his office. We all took a seat around the desk, making idle conversation until it was time.

All talking ceased when a feeling of power started to settle in the room. Footsteps were coming up to the cracked door. With every step, the energy increased, emanating power and dominance. My heart jumped in my throat, the nervousness back.

The door opened, and the Alpha stepped in.
