BEEP BEEP BEEP

I woke up to my newly set alarm clock. I can't risk being late for school because I had to skip yesterday all because of Chase.

Figures.

I groaned while turning over to my side and hitting the button to stop the annoying beeping. I flipped over to my stomach and dug my face into my pillow. I then felt a stinging sensation going up my arms. I turned to my back and lifted up my arms in front of my face. Damn. There were at least 20 scars on each arm. Then I heard my mom call my name.

"Tiffany, school! You better be up!"

I put down my arms slowly. They ached so damn bad. I sat up and swung my legs over the edge of my bed. I rubbed my eyes with my fists and stood up. I went to my walk in closet to get dressed.

I put on a dark purple long sleeved sweater (because of my scars), and black skinny jeans. I put on my knee high black leather boots with buckles going down them to tie the outfit together. I put on my purple and blue feather earings that barely hit my shoulders.

I grabbed my make-up bag off of my dresser and went in my bathroom. I put purple flare going through my white eyeshadow to look somewhat decent because let me tell you, I'm not the prettiest human being, although some say I am. I put liquid eyeliner on the bottom and dry eyeliner on the top. That was my style. I put a tad of blush and shiny lipgloss on. I then put everything back in the bag. I then took my hairbrush and forcefully unknotted my hair as best I could. I ran my fingers down the hickey I still had. I took my hair and moved it to my shoulder to unexpose my neck with the hideous love bite. I then headed out of the bathroom and downstairs.

"Honey." My mom started. I nodded my head as to say 'what'. "Buy breakfast at school, ok? I don't want you to miss a single second of school today."

My mom pointed to money on the counter and I didn't hesitate to take it. Wait? Hold the phone!

"Uh..mom. There's $50 here.." I trailed off, hoping this wasn't a dream. Hoping this wasn't money she had forgotten to put back in her wallet. She chuckled and gave me a big bear hug.

"Uh..Mo-" She cut me off.

"Happy early birthday, Tiff." She whispered in my ear. My birthday is tomorrow. Why did she give me this now? What is going on?

"Yea mom. Early. So why are you giving me this today?" I asked, stepping out of the hug, eyebrows raised at the sight of $50 in my very own hands. Just for turning 17? Wow.

"Tiff, I won't be here tomorrow." She said hesitantly.

My eyes popped open. I felt tears building up behind my eyes. "W-why?" I asked, hoping that she was just joking.

"Tiff, I got accepted for a job in California. I have to move."

"But, couldn't I-" I got cut off again.

"And no you can not move there with me. I can't have you move to a whole other school in the middle of the year. Plus, sweetie, I can't have any distractions that will make me unfocused before or during work." Whoa. Hold it. Did she just call me a distraction? I couldn't hold it in anymore. I started wailing uncontrollably now. I was helpless.

She went in for another hug but I dodged it, grabbing my bag that was leaning against the counter on the floor, and sprinted out of the front door. I could hear her screaming my name and tried to ask what she had said to make me so emotional.

I stopped 2 blocks from my house and took out my iPhone. I dialed Kayla's number, tears still falling from my eyes, knowing that I'm a 'distraction' to my own mother. The other line picked up and started with 'hello?'.
