Nate's POV
'She lost weight.' I thought to myself as I saw her getting up from the floor. "Are you okay?" I asked her as she almost fell from the floor.
I held her at the waist when our eyes suddenly met. "I'm fine," she said blankly. "I apologize for the commotion it won't happen again." She said it as if it were routine.
"Bea...trice-"
"I must go now." She limped on a foot as she got away from my arms and attempted to walk on her own.
"You can't go home on your own," I told her catching up to her surprisingly fast walking. She suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"I am fine. I must go get Henry from school. Goodbye." She continued walking to the schools parking lot.
"You sound like a fucking robot," I laughed quietly, remembering how much she hated me cursing. I immediately stopped when she didn't even blink an eye. She just continued her way.
I grabbed her by the arm, a feeling surging through me that I didn't feel in a while. Am I catching a cold or something? "Uhmm. Why didn't you tell Jessie to stop?" I asked her again even though she had already answered my question. I always remembered her being the one with more than one answer to something.
She looked me in the eyes and I suddenly felt a strange feeling in my heart. "Because I don't know how to."
"We'll haven't you ever told someone no when they did something that hurt you?" I asked her.
"No," she said simply, her big blue eyes blinking once. Twice.
"Do you're parents still hit you?" I asked her. Suddenly I was angry and I didn't understand why. She was quiet for a moment.
"No, they do not hit me anymore. I really have to go." She walked to a black 2015 Infiniti Q50.
"Wow," I said in shock. She looked back at me confusion laced in her eyes. "Your bought parents bought you a car?"
"As soon as I got my license."
'Her life seemed to have taken a turn for the better without me.' I thought quietly to myself.
Never did I think that. I thought she'd be angry at me if I were to ever talk to her again. But she seemed to not care. Maybe she really didn't care if I was her friend or not back then.
She got into the car starting the engine. "Wait!" I said stopping her from driving off.
She stopped the car and looked at me with those eyes of her. "So you're telling me that every time Jess hits you, you let her because you think that's what you deserve and you can't stop her?" I asked her one final time.
She didn't respond just looked at me. "Yes," she finally replied.
"Beatrice, do you think your parents would let you come over to my house?"
"No."
"Well ask them, and if they say yes come over, and bring nice clothes to wear. My number is-"
"I don't need your phone number," she said quickly. With that said she drove off.
You might be thinking. Why did you invite her to your house Nathan? Well to be honest, I missed her. I missed Bea.
I missed the girl that always joked around with me. Whoever that girl was, was gone, and in her place was someone cold and quiet. And it was all my fault.
Maybe if I had never left her I would have my Bea back. I don't care what anyone has to say about her this time around. A lot has changed about this school since freshman year.
