He was the million dots in the sky.

He was sunset, he was sunrise

He was beautiful city lights.

He was the quote in my favorite book,

And the risks I never took.

He was the song in my head,

And the words left unsaid.

He was the thing I craved,

And the mistake I never made.

He was the dreams every night,

The reason I held onto tight.

He was summer, he was fall

He was the love letters at my door.

He was the prize at the end of the finish line,

I should've known these when he was mine.
