Katherine was stuck. Torn between where to go.  After the two companions had left they had both outstretched their hands to guide her along the stairs.  Both of their hands were extended toward her. She didn't know whose to grab.  She didn't want to give either of them the wrong impression.  She didn't want to take ones hand and leave the other astray.  Kath didn't want to lead one on only to be leaving them soon, if she could leave.  So she grabbed both.  They all liked arms, Katherine in the middle.  The three ascended the staircase. On the second floor they dropped Katherine off at her door. She watched as Eli strode off.  Tomas, however stayed behind and waited at her door.  He looked anxious as he gently tapped his foot against the floor.  His arms crossed, his watch peaking out.  The time looked strange.

"Kath," he began , "you are going to have affairs with Eli tonight.  Correct?"

"P-pardon?"  Katherine didn't understand the way he spoke.  Tomas was so proper, so old.

"You are um going some where tonight with Eli?"

She had completely forgotten amongst all this commotion of the prior plans of spending the evening with Eli.  "Why, I hadn't thought of that.  Most likely if he chooses."

"Just, ugh.  Just be careful."

"Well I can assure you that I will be able to hold my own."  Katherine could pack a punch.  Not that she had ever really needed too but she had taken martial arts once when she was twelve, so she figured she would be good.  Though there was a a tab bit of doubt in her mind as to whether to not that information was useful and wether she remembered it.  She recalled back but could only remember a brief moment in which she socked Tommy from class in the stomach.  He was thirteen and a real jerk.  She couldn't remember why she had punched him, but she assumed that he had deserved it.  After that encounter she had been a badass ever since.  Who was she kidding. She wasn't a bad as and most likely couldn't ever be one.

"You don't understand him Katherine.  You don't know him the way I do.  It'd different out there.  I don't know where you are from but I do know that it is a lot different.  Please, be careful.  There are many things.  Many things that could hurt."  Not even giving Katherine to input further retaliation, he strode away up the stairs, not once looking back.

It was three hours later.  Three hours since the fiasco.  Three hours since Tomas stood at the door.  It had been three hours and Eli was there, standing at Katherine's door.  He looked nice.  His hair was slicked back, looking effortless. Damn, him.  Damn him and his perfect looks.  It just wasn't fair.  In those three hours Katherine had slept. She looked in her mirror, taking in her appearance.  She was a mess.  Her hair was distraught, sticking up on all ends.  Her dress was slightly hiked up, wrinkled at the sides, and there was a small bit off drool on her cheek.  Now, some may look cute in the "just got out of bed look".  This was not Katherine.  Katherine looked horrible.  She did not work the "just got out go bed look".  She rushed to the door when a nock sounded.  She opened the door to be greeted by Eli. He looked her up and down and let out a muffled laugh.  Katherine glared.

"What happened to you?"

"I was sleeping."

"I can tell."

"Then why did you ask me?"

"Because I wanted to hear your excuse.  Anyways get ready in a casual attire for our outing tonight.  It will be memorable. Darcy will help you get ready."

Katherine turned.  Darcy was right behind her.  She always was and to be quite honest it was creepy.  Darcy was always just popping up out of nowhere.  She was at the door, and Darcy certainly hadn't been there before. Only this time it was different.  Darcy wasn't Darcy.  Her eyes, once a hazel were now a navy blue.  She didn't know how but she could see the stars in them. A galaxy, sucking her closer and closer to her. Captivating her.  Katherine began to step forward, focusing only on her eyes.

She was yanked back by the arms and behind Eli. "Katherine stay back!"

"What?," she asked confused.

"Darcy is dead.  That isn't her!."

"What do you mean?  Darcy is right there."

"Katherine.  Look at her! Not at her face, try to avoid her eyes, but look at her body."

Darcy had streams of blood trailing down her legs which were awkwardly jutting out. Part of her dress was ripped and in place was a large gaping wound.  Her hair was distraught.  Her back slanted over and her knee bone tearing out of her skin.  Despite her lively eyes, Darcy was dead.
