Background for this poem:
In January my caretaker and grandmother passed away.
And my grandfather fell into deep depression. They were married for fifty three years excluding the years spent together before marriage
And now he's been hit with the worst disease I've met (and hell i had seizures as a child)

~Alzheimers ~

You are starting to forget
And trust me that's okay.
Ill be here next to you every step of the way.

You've given me life
And babied me too.
Its time that i repay the favor to you.

Go ahead and cry
Its okay to not understand.
Were all in this together though .
Don't be afraid to grasp my hand.

If you insist that the stove is a microwave
Then ill comply
And if you don't know where you room is.
I wont question why.

Call me mama
Or sister Nina
If thats who you see
Thats who ill be..

I know this is hard
And you're lost and confused.
But trust me love,
You're strong

Hand in hand we'll get through .
