The Winding Road

Prologue

Lilith POV

I was rooftop running late one night when suddenly I saw a figure on its hands and knees. I decided to check it out. I saw a girl on her hands and knees, hurt "What's wrong" I asked while walking towards her to help. 

She looked at me and asked "Why do you care?" 

I was stunned by question for a minute. 

"You're just a stranger, why would you care if even my family doesn't care!" Her teeth were clenched.

I felt sorry for her. "C'mon we'll get you fixed up ;"

"Here we go" she muttered, but gave in to my helpful nature.

 It took us a minute to get to my High Tech Treehouse. I sat her down on the bean-bag when we got inside"Here let me get the first aid kit" I told her. "What's your name?" I asked retrieving the small box. 

"My name is Mae, but it's not like you'll know me long enough to say it" She snapped

"Well you're wrong! And why are you so ticked off anyway!" I snapped back, completely confused about why she would try to 'bite the hand that feeds her" as people say.

 "Hmm, lets see: my mom is dead, my dad beats me, and all my friends have abandoned me throughout the whole thing!!!!! I think I have a right to be a little "ticked off"at that!" She said using quotation marks.

"Well you don't have to be ticked off anymore, I'll stay by your side! I promise," I told her with tears filling my eyes. This poor girl had been hurt like me.

Mae's POV
" I"m sorry I snapped its, just, my past I guess," I apologized and showed off the scars from the beatings. they ran down my arms, legs, and one across my eye. "Anyways what's your name" I asked. 

She stood there for a second and mumble something." Hmm?"I asked in confusion.

"My name is Lilith" she said. After I was all patched up Lilith asked if I would like to stay with her. "Sure" I answered excitedly. She quickly jumped up and started to walk towards the doorway. Noticing  I wasn't following she then turned and jester's me to follow. I got up and we walked around. She gave me a tour of her home then passed a room that looked like a lab. "This is pretty cool!" I informed. 

She smiled and thanked me; "I really like science." After the tour she showed me to my new bedroom. Before I entered I asked "So why are you by yourself?" 

The look  on her face indicated sadness. Finally she explained: "My parents couldn't support me so, the state took me away. They put me in a foster home. My foster parents hated me for no reason. Then one night I decided that to runaway because I felt like I didn't belong. After that I found a treehouse and fixed it up, then taught myself ninjutsu. I specialize with the bo-staff. Now I'm here," she paused for a second before speaking again. "Get some rest....you need it.". I entered my new room. Little did she know I also knew ninjutsu.

(About a year later)

Donnie's POV
I was working on an experiment when of course Mikey has to come and touch everything. I turned to see what be was doing, only to notice him messing with an unstable solution. I tried to stop him but I was to late. 

BOOM!!!!!! (BOOM BOOM CLAP!!!!!!!!! sry, Mae is a weirdo):))

I was blown out of my lab but Mikey had already made his great escape when I was up.

After I cleaned up, I walked out my lab in frustration and sat on the couch, thinking. Meanwhile Leo was glued to the TV watching space heroes.

Leo's POV
I took notice of Donnie, who was sitting on the couch huffing angrily. A few minutes later Master Splinter called us to spar. Raph, Mikey, Donnie, and I were all against each other. Raph and I were the last were the one left to spar. Hot-head won. Later Sensi told me and Donnie to go on patrol. As for Raph and Mikey, they were passed out on the couch. This, is why we need to train more...

Lilith's POV

Me and Shelby were running across rooftops and saw pink lights flashing in the distance.

Shelby looked at me, "What is that?" 

I looked at the light with concern, i have encountered these creatures before. "They call themselves the Kranng,". We jumped down and tried to stop them, but everything went black ...

Donnie's POV

We went up to the surface for a midnight patrol. When we arrived to the top of the building we started running. I saw something, "Leo," I called. 

"What is it Donnie?" He asked confused 

"Look over there" I pointed the direction where I see the two black blobs on the ground. 

"All I see is the Kranng firing at something, " 

"Well, is it good that they're out at all?!" 

We decide to check it out. There were two girls passed out, being dragged away by the Kranng. They both were so pretty but one caught my eye. She was so beautiful. Soft, light, brown hair draped across her skin, and she wore a purple tank-top with half black and a stripe across the chest. She also had blue capri's that were ripped down the front(in the pic above, if its not there i'll try to fix it later). 

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Leo shouted ,"We'll save you!". 

"You know they can't hear us right?".

" I know I just wanted to say something cool, " Leo says heart-sunken. "let's move!"

We took out all the Kranng. I went to pick up the girl that caught my eye. I picked her up and Leo picked up the other. As soon as I picked her up they sprung into action. She knee'd me in the gut and got free from my grip. She feel on the ground and swept her leg beneath my feet. I fell and saw her holding a blade to my head I looked over to see Leo in the same state.
