~We can run

Vic's P. O. V.

I run home quickly. Mom would be so pissed if she knew I was just coming home now so I slipped in my window.

I sat on my bed and thought about what happened. I was about to kill myself. Kellin saved me.

I thought about Kellin. He was really cute. No! Don't think about him like that! You don't even know him.

I looked over to the picture of Mike and I. I miss him. I know there were more reasons than just Josh. He was bullied and our mom hated him for being gay. That's why I'd never told her I was. I should've, maybe Mike would still be here.

I punched a wall and my mom rushed in. "What's wrong, Vic?"

I turned to her in anger. "It's my fault Mike's dead!" I yelled. "He felt so alone," I whispered. "If I'd just told him. . ." I trailed off, sobbing.

"Told him what, sweetie?" my mom questioned.

"He wasn't alone."

"Alone in what?"

"I'm gay, mom!" I yelled. "I'm gay! Just like Mike! Maybe if he knew he wasn't alone, he wouldn't have killed himself, but it's too late now."

My mom looked at me in horror. "Go. Just go. Maybe you can come back tomorrow."

I got up and stormed out of the room. I walked out and took a seat on the bridge. I glanced at my phone. 10 PM. I looked at the number on my hand and pulled my phone back out.

"Do you know of any parks nearby?" I texted Kellin. I sent him a second text saying "it's Vic BTW."

"Um... not really. Why?" he replied.

"My mom kicked me out. I might be able to come back tomorrow."

"You can stay at my house. My stepfather might be a bitch but he'll get over it."

"No I can find a bench or something." Kellin didn't reply and after a few minutes I saw him walking towards me.

"Come on, Vic. You're coming home with me." He grabbed my hand and pulled me up.

"Okay," I mumbled and we walked to his house.

Before we wakled in he looked at me. "My dad's an ass so be quiet. Try not to let him see you." I nodded and we walked in quietly.

"Kellin? Where did you go!"

"Out!" he yelled and ran to his room. I followed and he closed the door behind me.

"I can go if you're step-dad'll get mad," I mumbled.

"No. He doesn't like me. It's fine." I nodded once. After a few minute of silence, Kellin spoke. "So what happened?" I looked up at him with a questioning look. "Why were you kicked out."

I sighed. "I told you Mike was gay?" he nodded. "I am too. No one knew, not even Mike. I got really upset because if he knew he wasn't alone he would probably still be here. I told my mom I was gay and she told me to leave."

"I'm sorry," Kellin said.

I looked at him. "If you want me to leave, I can. I know no one wants to be seen with a f*g like me."

"I would never kick you out, Vic. You can stay here whenever you need to."

I nodded. "Thatnks, Kellin."

The two of us talked and got to know eachother for a few housr. He was telling me about his step-dad though he hadn't spoken of his biological dad yet.

He told me his dad was so rude and they hated each other. He said that was one of the reasons he was depressed.

I looked at him seriously. "Don't ever kill yourself Kellin. Don't even attempt." He just nodded. "Promise?"

"I promise. I won't kill myself, Vic. Ever."
