Just a Friend...

Unexpected Anwsers.

That night, I had a strange dream. I was with Alex. We were in an isolated beach. Just the two of us, holding hands. He was looking at me and smiling. The weather was fine, a breeze blowing along.

"I love you Samantha." said Alex. His face looked bright under the moonlight. I blushed and said, " I love you too Alex. You mean the world to me."
It was perfect. Him and me,just like i wanted.
Just then, all of a sudden, I heard a voice calling my name. I turned and saw Sean standing in front of me, tears in his eyes. I turned to look at Alex but he was gone. Now, it was just the two of us, alone, in the beach.
He came closer to me. The breeze carried along his smell. I looked into his wet eyes. He was crying. I wanted to turn away and run but I couldn't. My legs didn't move. The connection started building again. I think I skipped a nano second because the next thing I saw was my mouth in Sean's. I was kissing him, again.

Soon after that, my alarm rang and i woke up, sweating.
The larger part of my heart told me not to go to school, as i did not know how to confront him, but that remaining small part of my heart insisted me to go and sort things out. I decided, I should go. Will see what happens.

So, I got out of my bed. The smell of pancakes coming from the kitchen. I brushed my teeth, took a shower, got dressed up and went downstairs. My mom was making pancakes in the kitchen. I hugged her from behind and she smiled at me.

"Good morning sweetheart" she said.

"Good morning" I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.

Soon after, I left for school. It took me like 15 minutes to reach school. Thankfully i had my bicycle which relieves me from the pain of walking. I couldn't see Cara and Thalia anywhere so I called Thalia. She picked up at the third ring.

"hello? Samantha?" she said.
I heard Cara's voice from behind.

"Hey where are you guys?" I asked.

"so sorry Sam but I think we'll take some time. It's all Cara's fault."

"No it's not!" I heard Cara yell as loud as she could from the other side.

"alright alright, but hurry up." I said and hung up the phone.

I decided to wait for them outside so I sat down in a bench under a tree. It was a bit sunny outside and the shade of the tree was comforting. I plugged in my earphone and started playing random songs from my playlist. I closed my eyes and sat there, feeling the warmth of the sun around my face and the lyrics of the song. Just then, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I thought it was Cara and Thalia.

"Why are you guys late? You guys usually reach school before." I mumbled, my eyes still closed.

"Samantha it's me." said a voice. I immediately recognized the voice and leaped up. It was Alex.

"Oh hey, I thought it was Cara and Thalia." I said, kinda embarassed.

"I know it's ok." said Alex as he sat down beside me. I looked at him. He was wearing a white polo with a light brown trouser, looking sexy in a cute way. I couldn't help but smile. He smiled back. We looked at each other for a few minutes without saying anything.

"So, why did you run away from my house that day?" asked Alex.

I froze.

Then all of a sudden everything came back into my messed up head. That night, Sean, the whole paper dance thing, our kiss. My ears went hot and my hands numb. I gulped and just stared at my hands, trying to figure out a good excuse. I obviously did not want him to know about what happened.

"Samantha?" he said, looking up at me. His gaze was so hard. He looked tensed.

"Umm...My mom called. She needed my help in something." I finally blurted out.
