But Im Sorry

     My wolf was too small to run faster than the strong wolves I could sense were right behind me. I didnt know where I was going, I was just running. A tree was in my path and I was about to run around it when I realized I could climb it. These wolves would not be able to pull themselves up as high as I could, in human form or not. I jumped onto a low hanging tree branch and shifted quickly, before climbing up as quickly and quietly as I could.

     I held my breathe and looked down, realizing I had climbed all the way to the top of the tree. I looked out and saw from here I could just barely make out the lake. The cliff I just ran from was not too far away, and while the sight was beautiful, I found that it didn't look as good without her by my side.

     I could see Alley's truck on the cliff and her frame sitting ontop of it. I shifted and looked down, realizing I was not only naked but stranded at the top of a tree. I was out of sight from any enemy or wolf. The closest branch of a near tree was only about a foot away, and I jumped across easily. I realized the next tree was just as close as the first. Tree after tree I jumped across the top until the cliff and Alley had both come into clear view. She was crying. Almost howling in sadness and anger. Both me and my wolf whimpered at the sight of our poor mate, who was only acting upon her feelings. I just wasn't ready.

     I shifted back into my wolf form so that I could jump down from the tree and land easier, then followed Alleys scent back to the car. Staying in wolf form I looked to her with sad apologetic eyes.

     "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to rush things Rose. I love you Im so sorry..."

     Did she say...she loves me too?

     She jumped down from the hood of her truck and sat on the ground. I walked over and licked her face where tears once were before laying in front of her, facing the beautiful view we came here to see.

     She pet my fur and I responded by cuddling closer to her. I was content in this moment, I knew she respected me and my limits and before was only an accident caused by in the moment feelings. I allowed my eyes to shut as I dreamt of a future with the girl I only met a couple days go, and it seemed to be a bright one.
