I Wish I Could Live Forever

I grabbed a hold onto the statues arm and swept my foot up, kissing the stone cheek.

"What a cute picture, love" my mom said looking down onto the camera screen. "You look just like your grandmother, when she was your age." She smiled and pointed to the digitalized pixels.

"Ew. Mom, how would you know what grandma looked like at 19?" I said mildly puzzled, turning around to walk back into the rental car.

She laughed and talked about looking through some old photos back at the house. I shook it off, and turned down the car radio, so we could listen to the light drizzle of rain on the car windshield.

We had just arrived to the city about two weeks ago, and it seems we had only been here for a day. I absolutely am in love with everything to do with the city, and I am very sad to be leaving.

I'd be leaving with my mother today, but I convinced her to let me stay a few more nights with my sister, and she'll return me home as so.

We'd spent the murky day driving around and sightseeing, something we both appreciated.

My mother and I normally argued plenty of the time, but this whole vacation , we've been almost as best friends. This is probably one of the main factors, of why I love being here.

I wish I could live here forever.

She drove around the city stretch, one last time, before reluctantly driving back to my sisters loft.

They had only recently moved here, but the kids had taken it well. Their place is rather big, for the city, accompanying Her husband, her, their boy and girl, and the baby.

Mother and I had been taken aback at the sudden size the first time we'd arrived here, but we accustomed well.

Rachel, my sister, and mother were hugging saying their goodbyes, and crying as per usual. I haven't a clue why they're crying. We'd only see them the returning thanksgiving, which is next month.

Mom kissed me, and the rest of the children, then off she went. Later she disembarked to our home in the suburbs.

I ran into Joshie's, the eldest child, bedroom, to check out his collection of rocks. Or should I rather say, rock. He says its the start of a great thing.

At least it's not crystal meth.

We're greeted by Princess Eliza, the second child, decked out in the whole getup a princess would wear. The tiara, the dress, the jewelry, the shoes, and wand. And how she was to be treated as a princess, like she should be.

We sat in Joshie's room, and played "t-Rex goes to the T-party." It was something they'd come to play together, and both enjoy. It was rather interesting. The toy dinosaurs had the appropriate tea apparel on, but midway through the game would be displeased with the tea service, and rampage through the room.

Quite intense.

We had planned on going out tonight, because I had to live it up on my last couple of days. More like, I was gonna be ditched with the kids. What else are aunts good for? Probably the only reason she was willing to let me stay.

Rachel and Max were dressed to the nines, and making googoo eyes at one another the whole night. Making me sick enough to gag a couple of times.

Josh and Eliza were very calm kids, acting very well behaved, and I was surprised to say the least. They were fun kids, and I didn't mind hanging out with them.

I looked pretty, before Rachel handed me the baby. 6 month old, Elaine, lay cuddled up to my arms, almost the entire time. Each of my biceps  dying of relief.

Midway through dinner, I noticed an average man, about twenty-six staring at me. I ignored it, but kept an eye on him.

I almost thought that I wouldn't have to babysit tonight, until Max whispered into Rachel's ear, and she giggled, "Rosie, darling, would you be a dear and watch the kids tonight for a short while? We won't be out too long, promise."

I had to of course agree, and put up with the inconvenience, but I actually wasn't angry. Joshie and Eliza were cool kids, and Elaine was bearable. I wasn't exactly thrilled to babysit, but I didn't mind.

The two love birds, drove us home, and watched us walk into the house. Josh waved goodbye, then jetted back inside the door.

I set Elaine down on her playmat, and proceeded to Lock the downstairs.

"Hey josh, you need to hop into the shower, do you need help?" I yelled up the stairs after the little boy.

"Only when I need to get out!" He shouted back at me, while stripping his clothes off.

I picked up Elaine, and went upstairs to clean her up then to get her settled into bed. She ate her bottle, while I watched some tv, and before I noticed she was conked out.

I walked upstairs, and placed her into her crib, and kissed her on her forehead.

I quietly shut the door, and headed over to the bathroom with a towel in hand.

"Hey naked man, time to get out." I say shutting off the water, and picking him up, out of the tub.

"Why is this towel so warm?" He ponders out loud. I chuckle and reply, "because I'm the best aunt ever. Don't question me."

He giggles as I rub him down to dry him, and then walk him into his room.

"Here you go handsome, some pjs, before we watch our movie!" He laughed, and turned around to get dressed.

I walked over to Princess Eliza's pink bedroom/kingdom, and seeing her dancing with her stuffed alligator. "Excuse me your Highness, but the queen wanted me to make sure you were appropriately washed. The castle is depending on whether or not you step into the bath." I say whilst bowing to the four year old.

She pushed her crown up, and sat the animal on the bed, "as you wish. I prefer to have pink bubbles to the top of the tub, and my pajamas laid out next to my towel, which must be pink also." All of this was presented with such poise, and elegance. Maybe she was a princess.

"Yes, your majesty. I will do so now" I said in honor. I picked out the silk pajamas, and the fluffiest pink towel I could find.

They rested beside the tub, and I ran the water with a cup of pink bubbles.

Once she was playing in the bath with her toys, I decided to check on Elaine. It sounded as if she were cooing at something.

I quietly step over to her door, and cup my ear to the wood. Somebody is shushing her.

I swing the door open to reveal a completely blackened room, which was silent, except for Elaine's blabbering.

I walk over to the middle of the room, not being able to tell anything apart. I stretch my arms out, and feel a warm hardened chest, accompanied with him, I presume, holding the baby.

Suddenly, my glasses are ripped from my face, and the light turned on.

A leather gloved hand, wrapped into my mouth, and I could only tell shapes out now.

From what I hear the older kids are screaming out my name, in absolute bloody murder.

"Shh. Shush now girl." The man tells the baby, while caressing her cheek.

"Hello sweetheart. At a lost for words?"

The screams stop, and the house once again completely silent.

An eerie silence.

"I'm only getting started."

Sooo.. This was a dream I had last night, and I woke up right after the man said he was only getting started. I had to write it down immediately. Girl, was I scared. No thank you, and I'm supposed to babysit tomorrow evening. 😅 great.
